This is over now, I wont continue torturing myself by doing this anymore.This masterpiece of annoyance was made with photopaint 9 from a drawing I made to be used as a base.
Her legs were so unfinished I cropped them from the image.
I started this in october or so and have been working on it on and off until now. And it is not at all finished.
I was supposed to make a background, I was supposed to colour this and I was supposed to actually FINISH this..
But I am really giving up this time, it is virtually impossible for me to make this any better than it is.
This character is from a race called the people of winter hence the name. In the colorised version she was supposed to have grey-bluish hair and pale-yellowish skin.. very pale blue eyes and actually almost everything was supposed to be blue.. but the image in my mind was always dark red/brown so it was hard to colour it
and believe me, I tried and gave up many times. I was going to put this in scraps but since this is as refined and polished as this will get, I decided to make this the end.

absolutely beautiful! I can´t help but be surprised how unhappy you seem to be with this piece. But that´s what they say, isn´t it: a real artist is never satisfied. To me you're the real deal! I wonder what the sketch you used as a base looks like.

Both, really. Not that I have anything against either, it just isn't something that typically appeals to me. However, you make it look very good; maybe because, at least in the pictures you posted on DA, you don't ever-goth...with all the skin-whitening and eye-darkening make up and whatnot.
Compared to many people who dress goth, you look so much more ALIVE.
But I'm rambling.

Some people don't realise that they shouldn't use black because it makes them look sickly in a bad way.. I know black isn't my color so I don't use it as much, at least not in the makeup. And my hair was not black, it was dark, but warm, brown.

Well thats actually true, there was red. I sometimes coloured my hair red but it didn't really show, because the base color was so dark

Depending on how dark it is, it would go great with your complexion: a nice auburn or a woody chestnut colour would probably work best. I think it might look a little off if you make it too light.
Or, I could just have lost my mind, which is entirely more likely.

well yeah, I have the complexion of a person called "autumn", so I have all warm, predominantly dark colours that suit me. Reds and browns, yellows and oranges, and petrolblue (I love it). Oh, and lots of greens..

I have no idea what actually suits my complexion...I'm prone to earthy colors; forest-related greens and browns; grays and blacks; and blue.
What the heck is 'petrolblue'? Since when is petrol blue?

Petrolblue is a warm greenish blue, like very deep coloured tropicaloceanblue, but it's very green. Or like prussianblue, if you know what that is, maybe even greener. Just imagine a warm blue or google the word in images, and you *should* get petrolblue
And I will probably take some pics with the new hair for everyone to see. As soon as my "camerawoman" comes back from turkey

It's a pitty you couldn't finish this piece, but it's really awesome what you did so far. She's beautiful. I'm really glad to find this piece while I was browsing the front page. I'll certainly keep an eye in your gallery! ^^
