Being a great fan of wolves, anything reminding me of them and how cool they are cannot be entirely bad thing. This picture is no exception, quite the contrary. The posture and expression suggest such a wild, untamed, alertΒ but still fully confident 'Don't mess with me or I mess with you and you'll be sorry'-attitude that I like.
Shame about those branches, though. But, then again, if they are in the way, they are in the way.

That was a moment captured furtively to keep his expression, and I think the branches accent this dimension of a wild animal in his nature intimity, don't you think ?

It's clear that the picture had to be taken when it had to be taken to capture the expression so great that you were there, ready and waiting for the right moment. The branches do create the feeling of the wolf being 'in' there, it is just that with its expression and evident mightiness, an unobscured view would have worked, too.
What's more, comparing this wolf to the one pictured in the cover of latest Sonata Arctica album makes it evident what a sorry excuse for a wolf there is in the cover... Then again, I suppose wolves can be sad and lonely, too.
