How do you go about generating ideas for creature concepts? I'm working on a creature design project at college and I'd really appreciate advice on coming up with creature ideas and how to render the effectively...

OOoooh boy. Tough question. I'm not the best to ask, because I've never really had someone asking for something specific when I do these designs. So most of the time I'm just screwing around putting down whatever pops in my head. I'll try to change something anatomically about it that I haven't seen before too. Sorry for rambling along but goodluck!
