Thank you. I really mean it. This is a beautiful rendition of a game that will always be very close to my heart.

Thank you so much for that wonderful compliment. I can't even think about Toby's sacrifice without getting emotional, so it's really special to find other people who know and love the game the way I do. <3

Oh what a lovely picture of Tanya and Toby their store is one of a tragedy yet bittersweetness. I love how you have to earn Tanya's trust when she is the "bad thing" you mention. I like how little by little you gain some of Toby's trust too as you are able to learn more. I cried sadness and joy too during this story arc, but yet was really happy for Tanya when she was reunited with her mother and father.

I picture the sacrifice scene and the reuniting scene so clearly in my head that I can actually hear it as well, and it's by far my favorite sequence in the game because of that. So bittersweet.

It really was, in the next game Katrina is in it.
I also felt bad for Nicholia and Anna

It's funny going back and playing it as an adult, I realize how much "filling in the blanks" I did with my imagination as a kid. The scene itself is simple enough but oh how it broke my little heart. I still loved it though.

I didn't have the pleasure to play it as a child, but even as an adult, I shed some manly tears for Toby. Also - Tanya promising Toby that she will protect him, was so painful to listen, when you know what he will try to do.
It was very simple, but beautiful at the same time.

Thank you! I totally agree. Sometimes I worry that I just loved them as a kid and they'll lose their charm as I grow up. But I still love these games, and I still cry over Toby.

This was a beautiful thing...but my game used to bug here...I think it was while playing as the wizard. Wouldn't let me offer to bring her to town. Left me furious.

I know, the bugs in the game were just infuriating. But I think Sierra games ALWAYS suffered from game ending bugs! I think I learned what a patch was when I was like, five or six, just because of the game crashing waterfall bug in Kings Quest 4!! >_<

Feh...I didn't need a bug to stop me from beating Kings Quest 4. That damn whale tongue did me in. As for Quest for Glory 4, my first copy on hard disk was so bad, I couldn't get out of the second room. I enter it, kill the spider-bats, and that's it. I couldn't go down to the next screen.

Oh that whale tongue. Also you had to spell tongue correctly. Lol. Kq4 might have been the best spelling tutor I ever had growing up.
I'm kind of vaguely recalling a bug crashing the game that early. That and some kind of bug with the Leshy in the forest, but the big one for me was the stupid monks tomb bug.
It's kind of amazing you can beat the game at all! Just proof that my love for QfG conquers all. XD

Yup, for some reason my 2nd grade teacher didn't think it was important for kids to know how to spell words correctly, even though I had been playing KQ4 for about two years by then (with my mom, of course, but still...)

This is so cute! That whole part of the game made me so sad. Toby and Tanya were def on my top lists of faves. Only just behind the Dark Master herself! The shading, hair, and fur look awesome!

Thank you! I loved the Dark Master storyline too. The Cole's really went above and beyond when the wrote the stories for QfG4. My all time favorite Quest game. I just wish it hadn't been so buggy!
