Alright so I said that I was going to make for my next Escaflowne art armor for Van inspired by his Ispano guymelef, and these hips did not lie. I did. So there.I started off by using as many possible color swatches as I could from Escaflowne's palette but only when I started coloring this in did I take away the royal blue. I ended up adding so much detail to this piece that I didn't even realize that I had done so until I was starting to shade these things in. I ended up using dominantly red instead, since with the navy blue it was taking away from the rest of the designs. That's that's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
A lot of influences came to draw this together. Tera, Game of Thrones, Escaflowne, fried chicken and mashed potatoes... I no good at drawing wings.
I think I'm beginning to like drawing stuff for males more than I am for females. ._.
I leave up to you guys who you think I should make new revised outfits for. Allen? Dilandau? Merle? More Van? I don't have a premium membership so I can't run a poll or anything. But if you want, feel free to ring out suggestions here.

YES. Never thought the Escaflowne would make such pretty armor. It's like they fused! Van doesn't seem particularly happy with it though...
more Van please Dilandau? I personally wanted to shove Allen off a cliff the entire series so I'm not particularly interested in him.

In general I got that feeling about a lot of the characters in the series too, particularly Hitomi. To me Allen was a lot like her. It makes me sad that the movie was so condensed, since the way that they remade the characters was absolutely amazing. I liked Allen a lot better in the movie than that of the series.
Dilandau would be a pretty interesting character to redesign. Like Van I would probably give him heavy armor as well, as opposed to Folken or Allen who I would probably resign with either leather or cloth. I'll certainly add your suggestion to the list!

That's true... he looks tormented. Not that I can't see where he's coming from, I mean, that guy has some terrible luck... I'm still upset they never ended up staying together.
I viewed the movie as something related to the series only in name and general concept, but I tried not to compare the characters as they're all so different. 
If I could draw I'd give Dilandau flamethrowers somewhere on his armor.

Oooooh... Allen would be easier, as he has his own guymelef. Folken just borrows one of his catgirls', if memory serves.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a wardrobe similar to the guymelef, with the Ispano armor it was just something that I ended up doing. So don't let that get you down.
