Snowy owls always look best when it is snowing.

Well it's no wonder they where named snow owls for that reason.

Randy, the more of your stuff I see, the more I like! ^-^ I too, am a self-taught artist, a "jack of all trades, master of none" kind of artist ^-^ This is a lovely piece.

I'm so glad you like my stuff - although I don't think of myself as a master of none - kind of artist - I actually do sell a lot of my art through galleries and on-line, so I guess you could say I'm at least a semi-accomplished artist. ^-^

JMPorter In reply to RandyAinsworth [2015-01-04 00:37:59 +0000 UTC]

Good for you! I've had very many people in the art world tell
me over the years I need to display at a gallery, but meh.
I'm not motivated. I've sold my stuff on commission before.
I guess I just lack the confidence, and also, you have to amass
a lot of work to get it into a gallery, and I'm a pretty slow worker.
My creativity comes in fits and spurts. Mainly I give my work away
to loved ones and family. LOL silly me!

I mean to get to your gallery soon and check out more of your
work. You're quite a talent! ^-^

Wow, great work.
We don't see plenty of the Owls.
I don't think I've seen one
in real life before.

Yes, I've got two at home, statues of course. sta.sh/0d0zqt0i0d4
Here is something I did with Blender. The gray canvas you see, it is the Camera.
I had a trouble to enlarge the image to fit the camera. I'm still doing it,
I saved it before it could disappear

It looks great- like the beginning of an alien planet scene.

MiniaKrn In reply to RandyAinsworth [2014-06-22 19:54:39 +0000 UTC]

It could be anything at this stage, I saved it so I can go back to it later,
when I learn how to manipulate it, when I was practicing, I took it apart,
by using the values numbers. At the moment I don't know what values I can use.
I'm doing another tutorial now how to use the Nodes.
I did it up to now, quite exciting

RandyAinsworth In reply to MiniaKrn [2014-06-22 20:26:17 +0000 UTC]

Sounds exciting- how about trying prime numbers?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MiniaKrn In reply to RandyAinsworth [2014-06-22 20:50:17 +0000 UTC]

I'm getting all mixed up. I can slide the numbers, or type them.
While I'm doing it, the image is sometimes disappearing,
or I divided it into thousand pieces. Imagine that!
Interesting!

"Thousand Pieces" sounds like a good name for one of your art projects- I can imagine that!

Us people, we always exaggerate things to add more suspense to what we are saying.
But when I saw I run to rescue my project.
Thousand pieces, wouldn't be that bad

I look forward to the project called A Thousand Pieces.

I just found the parameters of the Formula Plotter,
I changed a few things and indeed it's looking interesting.
Probably I didn't have the time at that moment.
I remember only that I couldn't change the colors, but
I looked now, and there is a possibility of changing the colors.
Interesting.

Good evening.
I did some shocker. I have to wait 1 hour yet to render the image.
I'll put it in my scraps and will send you a link to it.
A Thousands Pieces - I don't know how many pieces there is exactly.
I'm doing myself a pizza now.

A thousand pieces might be close enough anyway- just make sure there's not a thousand pieces of pizza.
