Certainly very thought provoking. I've always wondered why dragons are feared in some parts and venerated in others. If dragons were still around in their true forms, would the stereotypes be upheld, or would mends be made? What would happen if the power of a dragon fell into the wrong hands?

As far as I'm concerned, we would assist at the worst of both worlds. From one side those who would claim they must be eliminated at all costs because they're a threat to mankind, from the other one animalists (yes, animalists...) and others who would immediately think of them in completely human terms and think they're just like in HTTYD.
I am convinced that, at least at the moment, we don't deserve dragons.

I see dragons as similar to humans because we are both extremely social creatures (though there are those who prefer to be introverts). There have also been cases where dragons have been able to understand and speak various human languages. They usually exceed human intelligence though, so I'm thinking we don't deserve dragons at the moment either. The rash decisions of closed-minded people would no doubt squander any hopes of peaceful relations between dragons and the masses. Perhaps peaceful relations are possible with the few who do understand the thoughts and emotions of dragons (if kept from the rest of the world).
