Description
I love this! I was just messing around on the computer today and this little idea popped into my head that I should make a sword for myself. So I did. I didn't really have a plan at all as to what it would look like but I really love the results. It's definitely something that reflects me, and something I would like to have in a fantasy world. (OK and real life too. )

Name: Elethea "Healer"
Abilities: This sword has the power to heal mortal wounds. But this comes at a high cost. When the wound is healed, the wielder of the sword must give a part of her life energy. This life energy can only be restored if the wielder uses the sword to take another life.
Origin: Elethea was forged by an unknown race over 2,000 years ago. The hilt and larger blade is made from mithril. The smaller blade is unique in that it is made of caesium. Caesium is one of the few metals that is liquefied at room temperature. However, the makers of this sword were some how able to solidify this metal permanently. Unfortunately, that is a skill lost to time. The jewel in the sword is the source of it's power. The sapphire is said to have been dipped into the Fountain of Youth, and this is what gave the sword it's wonderful healing power and its devastating curse.

Absolutely stunning...!!! I love the sword, the background, the presentation of lighting, but what makes me kneel and bow before this amazing sword is the story that backing up the entire purpose and meaning of the sword itself. I'm a very passionate sword collector and also a novel writer; I hereby giving you a salute and my personal thanks for creating this well-drawn sword and its well-though story presentation. I shall look forward to your next sword art presentation.

Muramasa and Masamune...one blade hungrily takes life, the other preserves it. Intertwined with the hilt of a legendary longsword such as Excalibur, and I see this as one deeply inspired weapon that is truly the stuff of dreams. In other words...it's beautiful.

The story complements the artwork and I love both. Does life force equate to strength and vitality or to years as well? Either way, if you kill more than one person do you obtain their life force as well as regaining what you lost and which was replaced with the first kill?
Aren't you sorry you wrote it?

Randoms-Foundling In reply to cemac [2009-05-27 12:50:18 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! No, gaining life force can only occur when some has been taken. It is an equal exchange. Though as the wielder gets stronger, the more difficult wounds they can heal. Because their life force is more powerful, the sword can use more of it to heal.

Wow, that is beautiful. I love the idea of the history of it as well, and the idea of the implications of using the sword, both to heal and kill (expecially kill since that is the only way to gain your own life force back. Do you get part of every person you kill with it?)

I love the ribbon and the flowers and the background. Overall, this is just an awesome piece.

Randoms-Foundling In reply to firstRainbowRose [2009-05-26 15:26:16 +0000 UTC]

Thanks so much! When you kill a person to get your life force back, the sword only channels the life essence, not the soul. But occasionally the wielder of the sword has a faint memory or emotion that is not their own.
