Description
Another shot from the Forest Rally Stage of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2010, this time of a MG Metro 6R4, for no more reason than ~Zelandeth said he liked them.The idea of a Metro with a V6 engine is quite amusing, but this car is no joke; on its World Rally Championship debut in the 1985 RAC rally it finished a very credible 3rd, and followed that up with a number of strong finishes in its time.
Well, at least, I sure wouldn't mind having a turn at the wheel!

I think we're both in agreement with Zel. Nice to see that the tradition hasn't died out, either, as the newer S2000 class rally cars look particularly insane compared to their urban coutnerparts!

These things are uttely nuts...aside from a few body panels, as I recall there is actually very little Metro in there! Still, it LOOKS like a cross between a tiny city car and a space ship, and from what I recall of seeing one go by here (in fact, it was in all probability given the graphics and how scarce they are, the same car), sounds like a cross between a city car and a space ship as well.
Yes, I want one.
Always had a soft spot for the Metro, even before I had my first one! So yes, as rally cars go, this one is always a favourite.

Thanks! This one was actually carefully driving around the broken down car just to the left of the shot, so I didn't quite see the car at its full potential, but I'm all for taking unassuming little cars and putting ridiculous engines in them to go racing!
