I'm still having a hard time creating proper skin tones and textures for me illustrations.Β Any tips?!Β I use photoshop, I have a wacom tablet and standard brushes.

My best tip is to do a lot of studies of skin and really focus on how it reacts to light.
If you want a quick fix you can try to apply photo-skin-textures to your characters.
