Chip: Say, Gadget. Why don't you have whiskers?
Gadget: Golly I'd... rather not talk about it >_>

Because in every other episode she works with a lighter or blowtorch right under her nose.

I used to have an idea for a drawing where Chip discovers Gadget shaving off her whiskers. She would've used a regular razor blade and a shaving foam. So no wonder she doesn't want to talk about itΒ Β

XD I was thinking she had a strange accident involving something she built

That's also a possibility. Especially if what ever she built was supposed to "workΒ with no problems"Β Β

There are a lot of times in the show where Gadget works with a lighter or blowtorch right under her muzzle. The real question here is how her whiskers grew out to begin with o.O

May be they grew back when she was on vacation in HawaiiΒ Β

Could be. Could indeed very well be. But if so, then there's the question why Lahw... Lawh... Lawhe... Lawie... Doppelganger Gadget has none either.

Everything has a learning curve...
Come to think of it, never thought about how Gadget has no whiskers. Rarely draw Disney characters, and when I do it is as naturalistic anthros, so in that sort of interpretation Gadget always had whiskers, dark eyes, a hump on her tail and all.

Yup, little rodent ladies have whiskers. I've had a bunch of pet rats, and the way their whiskers twitch ss they sniff is just too cute.

She could go ask some Don Bluth characters for advice on the issue. Her bosses at Disney might consider that 'consorting with the enemy' though.

Whiskers only work for certain female mouse characters I've noticed. They look cute on Tanya from An American Tail, but look a bit odd on Gadget. Maybe it's because Gadget doesn't look furry, I guess.

Yep that's exactly what I thought when I was done with this image. Gadget is jsut too anthropomorphic and the whiskers doesn't really work for her. They are definitely look out of placeΒ Β
