The steely gaze tell us something of why the Hobgoblin clan is now only remembered through their fallen statues.

I wanted to try to create a sense of tension within the image, of a power capable of being unleashed at any moment. To do this I tried to juxtapose a fairly static figure against the movement of her cloak and hair, with the added element of the magically powered up arrowhead.

This is further reinforced by the colour conflict between the subtle purples in the shadows and the strong saturated green of the cloak.

You can see the painting on the cover along with full details of the book here:

If she's running about wearing leaves for protection, it's no wonder she's "the last"!

hahaha, but either way, gorgeous colors and design, I love the way the cloak is swirling around her!

Hmmm, when i played D&D AD&D&Dragonlance at times my Ranger Characters had capabilities which mimicked those of Clerical Spells?

Great composition and colors. Her right arm(Forearm/Bicep) seems a bit skinny for the rest of her body. Her left leg just doesn't seem right. All in all, great image. You spent a lot of time on this image, or at least a lot of patience and you can see it in the overall image. Nice work.
