... seeing these sketches of pokemon together in a single image, I notice... Gardevoirs and Haunters have a similar style of 'cheek frills', once color is left out and you look at Gardes without the hair. Considering the somewhat-odd-seeming Egg-type choice for the Ralts line (which makes it compatible with Ghost-types like Haunter), I wonder if that's intentional and meant to imply something... Though I suppose it could just as easily be a coincidence and an artifact of the visual style. Still, I don't quite get why they're in the Amorphous group (considering they were among the first truly human-like pokemon, one would think they'd be alongside the similarly-psychically-gifted Abra line in the aptly-named human-like egg group), and it seemed like finally I might have come across a possible explanation.
I suppose, at the very least, they could be seen, especially being Fairy now, as akin to 'good spirit' counterpoints to the generally gloomy and/or dark-like natures of the traditional ghost-types.
