The design really is awesome for a mid evolution (which mostly are kinda awkward between the base and final evolution of starters imo). It makes me eager to see how badass Seargur can become in the end. A fire tiger with a snake tail might sound a bit strange at first but you certainly make that work with great designs.

Yeah, I love 3rd evos, but the 2nd evo always makes me the geeked-est lol, because it's a halfway point, and I'd want my 2nd evos to look good enough that ppl might not even evolve it, or they may put both 2nd and 3rd evos in their party lol!

Indeed you have a point there. Between the cute first form and the awesome final form there's still that middle one, which doesn't get its fair share of attention. Even here on dA there's the least artwork for the 2nd in three forms. Dunno if there are exceptions but that's how it seems to me. Probably the last forms of your starters will be the ones I'll like the most since my favorites are always the fully evolved forms.

True, I might train them a bit longer, but I always go for the final form myself lol

It's understandable since they are mostly the best of their lines. Some people stick to the first forms for their cuteness and others with the second ones so everyone has their favorite stage of evolution there. However since there is Mega Evolution the fully evolved forms might have an unfair advantage over the others with the whole form change thing and stuff like that.

Yeah but the new ones are more OP than the original final starters in previous games, the new final X and Y starters are alot stronger than your average starter's final form from Gen 1-5. so it equals out if you hit the right moves.

Soleviatis In reply to RaiZhuW-The-Real [2014-05-31 16:28:28 +0000 UTC]

That's true. However the new starters aren't the strongest. Without Mega Evolutions the strongest Water-type starter is Swampert (otherwise Mega Blastoise) and Delphox shares its place with the other Fire-type starters except for Blaziken and Emboar (Mega Charizard X/Y has highest base there with Mega Blaziken being a close 2nd) and for Grass-type starters we have a tie between Chesnaught and Sceptile (only Mega Venusaur goes higher). In terms of stats Unova has the weakest trio (only Torterra, Meganium and regular Venusaur are slighty weaker, which is balanced out by the others each) so it really comes down to their movepools and stat distribution along with a hidden Ability for some (which makes Greninja so much better).

True, there's no doubt that Gen 6 starters will get Mega forms tho, later down the line, the first Gen 6 pokemon that gets a Mega form is Diancie, and you can only get that in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, so I'm sure she isn't the last 6th Gen to get a Mega form! I'm sure the 6th Gen starters Mega forms will fix all the issues everyone had when the first found out what the final forms actually look like, I still don't like how Fennekin and Chespin's final forms turned out.. Fennekin looks like a woman, Starters should look neutral, not a specific gender, atleast no so much a specific gender that you feel weird owning the opposite gender of how that pokemon looks lol, and Chespin's just likes like he got of the yellow bus after swallowing a whole bottle of steroids lol, Chespin's is my 2nd fave of the 6th gen staters finals tho, with Froakie's in the lead lol

I love all the starters and it's for certain, that they have Mega Evolutions for all of them. Remembering the fact, how Sycamore mentions the bond between trainers and Pokémon as a factor in that, it's pretty much a given, that the starters are the ones, who have the highest chances for megas in every region.
Mega Diancie is something I totally adore, as it takes care of the one thing, that I saw many people make fun of in its design. That rock sure is a good thing to remember Carbink but it's great how that is turned into an actual diamond as it adds a  more pure feel to it. Just wondering about the reactions in a world, where regular Diancie is considered the loveliest sight in the world. Guess Mega Diancie could be some serious competition for Milotic and for me she already took its position.
Now my only hope is, that it won't be just a distribution like they did with Meloetta. It really peeves me, how they force the original names upon you. Sure they are great but I'd love to nickname them as that's just a great way to form stronger bonds with the Pokémon you love.
The problem with Fennekin always reminds me of Renamon. Being asked about the genders of Digimon it just said, how there are those without a gender and then exceptions with specific genders. Most likely it just looks female but only gains the gender when it digivolves to Sakuyamon. Long story short it's okay to see specific genders in the appearance but we shouldn't set our minds too much on this. After all some people also see a wizard with a robe rather than a sorceress with a dress in Delphox. Gardevoir and Machamp are more along the lines, where it feels weird because there it really sticks out too much in their physique. (still dunno why "Sirknight" would wear a wedding dress)
Maybe the Mega Evolutions deal with the design problems but maybe they enhance those further just like they did with Gardevoir. Before it already had that whole waifu thing going on but now it even looks like it always wanted to be called that. ><

Lol the 6th gen starters will most likely get Mega evos in Pokemon Z version, it's a continuation of Gen 6 so it only makes sence to get the most gen 6 Mega evos in that version, and I feel you about the gender thing, I just don't think it should show so much in a starter... specially since their not gender locked... An I don't like nicknaming my pokemon, I feel you about the bond tho, but theres over 700 pokemon now, if I nickname them, I wont remember their actual names lol!!

Soleviatis In reply to RaiZhuW-The-Real [2014-06-11 02:38:53 +0000 UTC]

Hopefully the Z version happens since I remember something about them saying, that from that generation onward there won't be more special editions like that. Whatever source I got that from (don't remember it exactly) better be a troll. They can't just leave Zygarde like that and those two hidden moves (Thousand Waves and Thousand Arrows) certainly hint at something with their power, type and accuracy being the exact same as Land's Wrath.

It surprises me, how they do the rather obvious appearances even with legendary Pokémon like Meloetta and Diancie for instance and then make those genderless, when there are gender locked ones like Cresselia or Thundorus and so on. They do pretty much everything to establish Diancie as a princess with its movie and while a sword gets genders it doesn't happen there? Same with Meloetta, which is treated like a female in the anime (Meowth and others instantly falling in love on first sight) while it is meant to have no gender. They really should've gender locked them if that was their plan to begin with. Fans assigning certain Pokémon to specific genders is one thing but it's a whole different deal, if the creators of them do this and yet don't give the appropriate genders. It makes me question my understanding of the subject, if something hits me with all sorts of femininity while being genderless and something else looks female and can be both genders.

Actually I don't nickname all Pokémon myself. It's down to about 100 which I like so much, that I would never forget their true name so there's that.

Lol I feel ypu 100% honestly we should be able to breed legendaries, just make it hard, like 3/4 of the national pokedex has to be completed and you unlock the item to breed legendaries with ditto, but theres only a rare chance it will actually happen like a 2% chance every 100 steps or sumthing you know!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soleviatis In reply to RaiZhuW-The-Real [2014-06-13 15:50:29 +0000 UTC]

Indeed legendaries should be able to breed. At least, if it isn't specified, that they're one of a kind, which would make it seem strange, if you could get thousands of them without the help of Arceus. Said Pokémon could be the key to getting more of those unique ones. Also breeding would mean no event-exclusive name lock and that I would really appreciate. All those people wanting to name their Diancie Madoka gonna be mad once they realise it won't work due to OT being not them. This I still find strange considering any other Pokémon given to you during the game (starter for instance) is yours but these ones are not despite the fact, that the way you get them is technically the same in-game...

I think Diancie is gonna be our 1st distributed pokemon for OR/AS, you seen the latest english video of Mega Diancie? It talks about Diancie distribution at the end of the video, and it's in english, so we know it's not an Japanese only distribution!!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soleviatis In reply to RaiZhuW-The-Real [2014-06-13 20:52:47 +0000 UTC]

Somehow I don't think it's gonna be until OR/AS for us. They showed regular Diancie next to X/Y with the "distribution details coming soon" and that's why I think it will be distributed before the remakes. People in Japan can have it from 19th of July (start of the movie) until 30th of September, which is pretty much the date I suspect to be the latest we'd have to wait for it. We might get it sooner and I doubt it's gonna be later. Most likely they'll have you transfer it via Pokémon Bank so you can take it to Steven Stone to activate a short event in which you'll get Diancite (or whatever to call it)

You can get Mega Diancie's stone in OR/AS so it only makes sense to get her in it, and they keep making a big deal about her being in OR/AS, have you seen this video yet? www.youtube.com/watch?v=8FJEyj… , it says Diancie distribution at the end!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soleviatis In reply to RaiZhuW-The-Real [2014-06-14 22:20:40 +0000 UTC]

It is exactly like I thought. The trailer shows, that the Mega Stone is obtainable in OR/AS while there's Mega Diancie in action but shortly afterwards it says to get Diancie for X/Y with the details coming soon. Also if they really were to hold the distribution of her back until the remakes come out it would be November for the rest of the world while Japan has that in the middle of July... not saying that won't happen but slowly I'm getting mad the more things are revealed to be given to those who see the movie there. They get a Darkrai, then Diancie so very early, then a Pikachu figure if they go to certain stores with the ticket and nope it doesn't stop there the first three million in the cinemas also get a Diancie Tretta (just found out what those are recently)
When it comes to Pokémon you really wish to be in that land sometimes...

Honestly they need to make figures that link up to the 3ds like Pokemon rumble, and if you buy the figure you can get that pokemon in the game permanently, that will help games and toy sales, specially for ppl like me who need every pokemon in their pc, I'd spend $20 easily on a Mew toy that gets me Mew in any of the newer games lol!!

If there were figures of Meloetta and Diancie I'd probably do the same just to get them in every Pokémon related game with such a feature. On the other hand Mew and Jirachi are the only events still missing in my Pokédex so yeah...

Indeed they aren't a problem as long as they aren't used in battles or their trainer brags about them. As long as nobody gets harmed or anything I'm okay with things like Diancie and the others being around.

Probably it's just because I like the Fairy-type so much, that I get into things that much. Guess I'll make Diancie part of a new team of legendaries. Primal Groudon will be a great partner in that team. Although I doubt, that Primal Reversion and Mega Evolution can be used at the same time. Maybe it works out but it would mean Primal Groudon and Mega Diancie being active on that team during one battle. Alternatively I could go for Primal Kyogre, if that plan works out.
