Do you like the concept? It's certainly a far cry from what I've typically imagined for Lightning Strike lol

I do like it! I think it's pretty awesome! And sure to make a good story if Aerrow were ever to discover his identity.

I imagine there being a grand total of 3 meetings before the truth comes out on the 3rd:
- first, the Vulture collabs with the Storm Hawks on a dangerous mission
- next, he aids Aerrow in getting a Crepuscula crystal of his own
- ultimately, when the two get stranded together and found by elite Cyclonians, he takes off the mask and says "I've already lost you once. I can't let that happen again." And then, once he's won that fight, he explains what he meant.

I like how they meet before the truth is revealed. How do you think Aerrow would take it though?

At first, he'd react with stunned horror.
Later, anger.
Eventually, pity.

Stunned horror and anger I can understand, but why pity?

For what he was, what he's become and what he could have been. The "what ifs" of this situation only serve to make it sadder.

Yeah, that does make it pretty hecking sad.
But he doesn't feel any kind of happiness that his dad is actually alive? Maybe after some time has passed?

I suppose there is an opportunity for some reconciliation further on down the line.
idk how much you know about Soldier 76, but he was the basis of this idea because he has a fairly similar story of being betrayed by a close comrade and almost killed as a result of that betrayal, and now wanders the world as a cold-hearted vigilante in search of answers and vengeance.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=byhvUm⦠www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPRRup⦠these should give you a good idea of it if you haven't seen them.

You suppose? Forgive me if I seem thick, but it feels to me like there should be. They are father and son after all. It'd be pretty depressing if they couldn't form some kind of bond again.
I've just seen the videos and I can see what you mean. But from just what I've seen, I just want to point out that it doesn't seem to me that he's "cold-hearted", as you put it. Okay, nit-picking over. He seems a pretty great character to base this idea of Lightning on.

He can't go back to just being the loving dad he once was. He's just too damaged, and with the things he did in the interim, he believes he shouldn't be anybody'sΒ father anymore.
It's a tragic situation for everybody involved.
