Okay, all the HL fans out there...if I made some sort of...TERRIBLE DISASTROUS INFORMATION SCANDAL here....forgive me."You heard the girl, FORGIVE HER, NOW!"
You see, I didn't play HL, I only have some childhood memories of it X'D (while watching my brother play). HEadcrabs, alien plants that suck you into the ceiling.... dogs with 100 eyes.... Really nice memories.

you just got me thinking about the portal and half life timelines, half life 2 takes place in the 2000's or somewhere in the year (half life takes place in the 1990s or 2000s possibly) while portal could take place in the 90s or 2000s, the apeture enrichment Center is in upper michigan, the 7 hour war was faought by all nations (while gordon is in stasis and then let out after a few years or months depending on how fast the combine "rebuilt" the conquered or destroyed citys and placed probably in russia or somewhere else in europe that would use cyrilic letters) portal 2 takes place years after that so how is the combine still around... oh wait episode 3 isn't released sorry for this rant.

Hmm...well, I always thought it's like:
Portal 1 and HL happening both around 2000 ....I think Glados took over the facility in 2001 ...when you listen carefully during the boss fight in P1. Glados says she's the only one who stands between "them" and Aperture facility....and that it looks far worse outside than in the facility. Thus, the combine are still around at that time...probably. On this page, Doug is reffering to information he received before he got shot in LabRat - so the information was from year 2000, with combine still infesting the world.
Portal 2 takes place whoknowswhen after end of HL2 .... in this fanversion, both Doug and Chell went into stasis and woke up whoknowswehn after end of HL2 and before the start of P2).

Man, I've got to try and get my brothers to play that game.. so I can watch them, because I just can't function with creepy games like that. I got the demo for a scary game once and the music and after the first nasty zombie thing popped out, I was done. I'll stick with my Portal, Zelda, and Final Fantasy thanks xD

I took a lot of comfort in the fact that there were no other people or "Creatures" in the game. The most that could scare you was a turret.... but still, I was always afraid they were going to surprise you in some way xD The first time I played it.

Ahhhm maybe im too late for this conversation, but just to put some light in this just in case you don't know already: the houndeyes only appear in the first Half Life, but not in the sequel. Such a shame since i think they had a really original design.
By the way, i just started to read your Portal comics and already loving them, keep up the good work!!!

Welp, I remember them from childhood :'D ... The less zombies in a game are, the better for me I guess TwT Since....I am really...uncomfortable with those..(gosh, even the headcrabs are enough to make me lose control XD). But thanks for the info!
