Description Getting used to using my cintique<3
Nami is an oc in collaboration with my dearest for our manga "Green" that is in the writing stage.

The ocean called to her, entrancing her, then . . . she fell.  Her lungs burned with unimaginable agony as her last breath escaped her lungs.  When the water had filled them to their brink, she could then breath, and suddenly the water's weight meant nothing- she broke for the surface.  Gasping a breath of air her lungs still felt wet, yet oddly she felt only the residual pain of her previous struggle.  She gazed at the world around her, which still felt so new, with wide-eyed curiosity as it was beautifully bathed in the crimson sunset she had noticed on the ship- which now had begun to depart as the crew roused from their enchanted slumber.

She called to it, as soundlessly as ever, as she attempted to pursue it, with an odd amount of speed mixed with a peculiar type of mobility.  Her legs didn't feel right, they weren't moving in the same way, she looked back only to see . . . fins?!  Had a large fish followed her from beneath the waves?  Frightened, she swam faster until she reached the ship's hull; pressed against it she watched in terror as the fins got closer, and then . . . stopped.  They remained in place, flicking back and forth, stirring the water at a little more than an arms reach from her.  Confused by this she attempted to grab one of the fins but then startled when she felt her own hand pull at it.  After the initial fright she was again filled with wonder as she lifted her tail from the water, gazing at the spectacle in all of its beauty.

She felt silly to have not of realized it was herself she was fleeing from, but how could she- after all, it was just this morning that she began to recall any form of memory.  She did not know how she had even come to fall asleep in a pool of silver blood, why her heart had ached in excruciating pain, or where she had acquired the silver pendant with a gem as deep a blue as the heart of the ocean.  Worst of all, she did not even know if she had a name, nor if she even needed one.  Now to be faced with an even odder curiosity, as a tail that shifts from legs, did not help her nerves in the least.  But she knew what did, that vast ocean and the shores not far off in the distance-- and so she swam.  Abandoning the conflicting thoughts and feelings behind her, she swam to the shore and towards a future.  A future filled with wonder, amazement, and curiosity.

One isle after another, town after town she traversed via the sea until she was met with misfortune and caught in a storm.  Eventually she washed up on a shore, exhausted and battered only to be found by a red-caped woman.  It was then that Robin came to call her Nami.
