After chasing after Team Plasma from Opeluchid City, and picking up the Wave Badge on the way, Kevin, Samantha and the rest of the team arrived at the Giant Chasm and the Plasma Frigate, ready for a huge clash with the evil organization. However, in her anger, Samantha rushed off, leaving Kevin and the others behind. After beating a couple of grunts on the way, Kevin and the team found Samantha in blind rage cutting down and hurting Team Plasma members and Pokemon with her fury of Night Slash and Razor Shell attacks. As she was about to land a fatal blow on a corered grunt, Kevin got in the way and grabbed her Razor Shell by his hand, cutting himself in the process, to stop her.

A fight between the two ensured, Samantha attacking Kevin in cold blood with intent to harm him so much he wouldn't be able to stop her again. She wanted to get rid of Team Plasma above anything else, but now she was just letting her anger take over and couldn't seperate right from wrong. She finally got the hit she wanted, by sinking into Kevin's shoulder with a Night Slash, however this was part of Kevin's plan, to get her in range and then strike the Oshawott while she was unable to dodge. A slap from the back of his hand across the Oshawott's face made her snap out of her trance. Kevin calmly walked away from her, but not before taking out her Pokeball and triggering the "release" command, breaking the connection they had as Trainer and Pokemon.

The battle with Zinzolin followed, Kevin's team having a hard time breaking through the defenses set up by Cryogonal, making his Weavile a agile tank in comparison to other Weavile. Samantha had made her way there and simply watched as her former team kept falling to the Weavile opponent, demanding Kevin to send her out instead, just to be ignored by Kevin, who didn't even look at her... After continuing for a good 10 minutes into the battle, Samantha broke down crying and begging forgiveness, if only he let her battle with her one more time to make up for what she did. Kevin, seeing her on the floor and crying herself dry, knelt down and placed a hand on her head, telling her "Quit the crying...it doesn't suit you.". As Samantha looked up at Kevin again, he wiped a tear from her cheek, a warm smile on his face, causing Samantha to smile as well and place her paw on his hand. In that instant, she evolved, having finally opened up to her team after such a long time.

Kevin and Samantha took up the battle with Zinzolin and his Weavile. The two proved evenly matched, but the Weavile had too high defenses. As the opponent rushed at her with a Metal Claw, on Kevin's command, Samantha let herself get hit...and strike back with Revenge just a second after being hit, knocking the Weavile out and ending the battle in victory for them. The exhausted team then made their way off the frigate, having to prepare for the up coming battle against Kyurem. Samantha tried to leave them behind in the process, but Kevin simply stopped her by holding onto her paw, as she was too tired to break free from the grip. With a smile on her face, she let herself be re-captured, uniting her with the team once again.

After evolving, Samantha kept her personality, but is now more open to those around her. She gladly trains with the base evolution stage Pokemon in the area to help them get stronger. She still hates being called a tsundere, but her teammates aren't stopped just because she tells them too.She's also secretly hiding the crush she has on another Pokemon she know. Who it might be is still a mystery...

Samantha, with help from Kevin, has learned a few new moves to use upon evolving, including the powerful finishing attack she has in Revenge, among other things.
Her current moveset looks like this:
