Description OK I admit, I am stuck on this building. I love it! I want to buy it flowers and chocolate and read it poetry on a moonlight picnic! OK, not really but that made for a funny mental image didn't it?

You're welcome! All is well at my end . Busy as always, and I hope to get the chance to snap some cool pics this weekend. And you? How's it going?

I'm OK, I have not really shot anything new in a while because one of my fingers has been messed up for months. (I will be seeing a specialist shortly.)
So I have been revisiting photos I took on an exceptionally warm day from this past February. That is what all the recent stuff is...It is funny how you shoot some things and think nothing of them till you start playing with them and then it is like... a revelation.

Sorry to hear about your finger. I hope it gets well soon.
I like going back to my older photos, too. Sometimes it is as if I see a particular photo for the first time. Especially if I can't remember what I had in my mind when taking the picture. This can open up a whole new view on the photo.

I totally agree, sometimes it is better to forget all your previous ideas for a photo and just go with a second moment of inspiration. I think I will be working on that tonight...

It's a nice composition, but I would burn in on that cloud up on the right a little. It looks a little blown out and my eye becomes distracted.

The image is great! I love the extreme angle and perspective! I've also tried to achieve a similar look of the photo itself in one of my recent deviations (you can take a look if you want)!

PS About the description - do you also want to have children with it? o.O just kidding!

Hi Matt, No this one is in Philadelphia not Chicago. And it is a well kept secret in Phila too, you have to be right up on it to see that it is not shaped in a normal block fashion.

There's a building like this in downtown Los Angeles as well. I've often tried to get a photograph similar to this but have never succeeded as you have here. You've created a beautiful photo!

raiawoman In reply to dale427 [2007-12-03 20:49:19 +0000 UTC]

Thank you so much! I would love to see the one in LA... This one is a building I have shot a dozen times but one day decided to turn the camera left instead of right!

Thanks a bunch for the fav and the watch!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dale427 In reply to raiawoman [2007-12-03 21:45:08 +0000 UTC]

I'll see if I can find it. What I thought was cool is that if you step just a bit to the left you lose the right side of the building. It looks like a flat plane with windows. You can do that with any building but the shape of a building like this lets you cut that angle and it looks surreal. Actually, I used to work in that building in LA years ago. It was called the Wells Fargo building. Not sure if they still call it that because there are so many buildings in downtown LA with Wells Fargo on them. The address is 333 South Grand. I'll look for the pics soon.
