Description ...and after two months behind, I submit my part of art trade between me and ~whitediaraikia ... That´s a long delay, but I have seen much longer and I hope so did ~whitediaraikia . >This< is what I got from her. Our techniques might seem similar, yet they are actually absolutely different in fact.
Industrial background is a gift for her fiancé, ~Franni-cz , patched fabric is the gift from me since I hate getting rust and old grease stains on pretty things. The rest is for ~whitediaraikia herself and her foynx character, Kirsch .
Let´s now hope the time she had to wait was worth it.

Not a mature content because DA loves me.

I have always had a soft spot for warm-colored felines, specially lynxes. The love and attention put to the complexity of the fabric just takes me away, and even makes me feel the texture.

I have to dare and say, however (and i'm ready to blame the scanner for this), that the tones of the character, fabric and rusty background lack a bit of hue contrast that would've been welcome as a visual rest for the piece. It might be a thing of taste; but it just feels "too red", a tad too aggressive for me.

Nothing that takes away from the image, though; i really enjoyed looking at this piece, admiring all the little details that somehow peek through the brushstrokes.

A critical comment! I don´t get too many (or enough) of those. Thank you! Now that you mentioned it I see what you mean and I agree with you and nobody else would point out the obvious. The problem with me is I am basically colourblind - I see colours, but they have little emotional effect on me. I could go see ´Speed Racer´ and ´Avatar´ a see nothing of the marvelous colours all sang odes about,... and was left with lauzy scripts and boring predictable endings. That´s the reason why my works might be unbalanced sometime and thanks to you I can now try to avoid it. Thank you once again.

Thank you! ...But knowing what works qualify for a Daily Deviation, I would not hope this one would ever make it... I was nominated with them before, so I know how hard I need to try to get one again, though.

you style is so breath taking. The fabric looks great but looks a bit flat in some areas, other than that your molding, or shaping of the the objects and the character herself are very nice. I admire how you made the pattern on the fabric, I often catch myself not wanting to go to the trouble (which is really the wrong attitude to have) but taking the time is worth it. Your fades are very smooth, and you did an awesome job on emphasizing the characters face. Excellent work as always.

Thank you! That´s about as much praise as could be fit in a comment this long and I especially appreciate pointing the thing you see wrong, but you don´t need to go soft on me because of some conduct of politeness - A couple of people also spoke out their objections they have with this picture and that will prevent me from repeating it and I can take some critique. Input of how to improve my works is very welcome, so thank you specially for yours.

She's looking good and the environment is full of detail! I'm impressed how well-defined the beams on the ceiling are when all the brush strokes seem to be diagonal to them. I think I agree that, maybe in an attempt to keep the tail looking fluffy, some of the boldness in shadowing was sacrificed. But altogether another beautiful painting And two months is not so long; I'm waiting for some many-year-old trades that probably will never get drawn at this point.

How do I get DA to love me?

RadosBadger In reply to KalahariFox [2012-02-10 23:36:21 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! All you put forth in this comment is true - The brush stokes are pretty much all diagonal, following natural direction of my hand, and I also admit there there are bits that did not turn all that well. Good reason to try harder next time, if you ask me.
And "DA loves you" is DeviantART´s own motto, so I am using it as naïve means they will tolerate my trespasses againts its rules, should I ever make them... Nothing so far, it seems.

PS: It´s been ~whitediaraikia herself who informed us about your intention to visit our beer-soked heart of Europe this autumn and caused an imidiate sensetion. Too long to predict how things eventually turn out, but they are already promising.

How did I use this website for so long without knowing its motto? My efforts to sidestep the mature filter have never gone unnoticed

Yes, I've been coming up with plans to visit your part of the world! These are still very vague plans, but they probably include destinations in the Czech Republic, Poland, and maybe others. I'll wait until the summertime, when things warm up there

Smart choice waiting for warmer season - It´s arctic here right now. And you can start picking which place you´d stay at during your visit. You could get an expensive Prague hotel, of course, but I predict a couple of people will be willing to get into each others´ hair for the opportunity to take you in. It´s a little too early to predict, but I live in a flat with a spare roon and bed in case you´d like to make the choice simple for yourself.

The style of your art makes it seem as though every brush stroke is a piece in itself, but they all happen to fall into place to create a beautiful art together as well. As such, this is an excellent exploration of the female form, delightfully alluring and colourful, although the tale looks perhaps a tad flat it does nothing to detract from the piece. I honestly cannot expect anything but stunning work from you, keep it up.

Thank you! I know this picture does have its bugs and I am glad there is somebody who would point them out. Commentators like that are rare and valued. How about a request? I plan to make tribute pictures to my most contributing people on DeviantART and you pretty much qualify for the one I would do for the most insightful commentator.

CatFaceBunyyAwesome In reply to RadosBadger [2012-02-10 23:25:35 +0000 UTC]

Oh wow! Thank you, I am glad that I can help, really. Can I save the request for later? I have a project coming up with some OCs which might deserve a portrait (I have one in mind which I think would be perfect for you I hope). It might take a while (a few months) before I can even announce it, so really it depends on the time scale of your work.

RadosBadger In reply to CatFaceBunyyAwesome [2012-02-10 23:59:33 +0000 UTC]

Can be a week or so with a standart A4 format. Getting it finished and getting it even started are two distinct things with me I fear, though. Consult the details with me via notes so that we don´t spam a place that´s not meant for it. I am used with working with detailed descriptionsI should it be okay with you.
