Hehehe, thanks! I am still quite proud of this one.

I love how they look like real women, not sticky things with huge boobs like in comics.
*applauds* Awwww, they're so ... RIGHT for each other ...

Thanks very much! I pride myself on drawing women who look like they have the space for all their organs. And they are so totally right for each other ^o^

You are most welcome! (I learned from a young age that real women have curves and was rather disturbed by Barbies.)
Yeah, Harley and Ivy are totally meant for each other, because Batman and the Joker are too busy pretending not to be in love with each other when they really are ...

I actually pay very little attention to the Joker, since he treats Harley badly, and most of my interest in the series is Harley-and-Ivy-based. So my observation of the banter/antics between Batman and the Joker is pretty much nonexistent. Much watch for this subtext now, though.

Ah, cute! And once again, coloured beautifully.
For some reason, I've always prefered Harley and Ivy over Joker and Harley.......
I don't know why, but those two ladies just fit togeather so well. While Joker just likes to use her as his 24 hour servent---plus, he doesn't like her in the love thing anyway: He wants his Bat, lol.
Ivy, however, really cares for Harley.

Thanks! And exactly. Ivy actually loves her, so its an actual relationship, and not just self-enforced servitude. Much much better.

Hehehe, thank you! And yes, Heath Ledger did an amazing job. So very perfectly dark.

;_; I know exactly how you feel. The movie was amazing- not as good as Iron Man, but so damn close- but I was really hoping there'd at least be a reference to her somewhere in there.
I'm praying that maybe she'll show up in the next one. She's just such an awesome character.
Anyway, very pretty. I like how the masks and vines frame them.

;_; But I couldn't stand it if they picked someone else to play the Joker. That would just be so disrespectful to Heath Ledger. His performance was amazing. If it were a different series of movies, that's a different story.
What I think would work nicely is if Harley sort of had a crush on the Joker but had never actually met him... you know, got inspired by him, etc. And then met Ivy and had awesome plant babies.

Hee! I love the little border at the bottom, with the symbolism for each character.

Beautiful as always dear... and not just the ladies, but I love the foreground you added for them, the plants on one side for Ivy and the masks for Harley. Beautifully symbollic.

Did you redesign Harley's costume, or is this an official variant? Because I like it.

It really does look good. It shows off your classic sense of visual balance and duality.

Wow it turned out great Rei!
I love the expression!
BTW: Is "Dark Knight" a good movie? I mean it breaks record after record but I guess it is because it is late Heath LegerΒ΄s last movie...
IΒ΄m asking because Joker was already an opponent for Batman in the very first Hollywood movie with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson... so i was disappointed when Joker got selected to be the bad guy again...
Best wishes,
Chris

Thanks!
And I enjoyed it, but I don't know if its popularity is just because of Heath Ledger. That's probably a factor for a lot of people but I still think it was really good. And I know the Joker was already the villain in the first film they did, but it seems that with "Batman Begins" they restarted the story, as if the other four movies hadn't happened. So in that case, its like Batman never battled the Joker until this new film.

Well, so that means that also Penguin, Riddler etc. can have a comeback...
IΒ΄d rather see some new blood regarding the movie villain... like f. e. Scarecrow or the Tweedles...
Or a crossover with the villain from another comic series like f. e. Rhino, Mysterio etc...
The only old character I would like to see again is The Catwoman... but she was no villain... well she tried to do self-justice but The Punisher goes the same way...
Best wishes,
Chris

There's already tons of rumors, apparently, circulating about who'd going to be the next villain, and lots of people are guessing Catwoman. I'd really like to see her again too, and I think this last movie has set it up so that could easily happen.

stuffedbellylover In reply to rachelillustrates [2008-08-10 03:45:24 +0000 UTC]
Well, I donΒ΄t like Catwoman as a villain... I mean she was a villain once but changed her ways so I think it would be wrong to turn her villain again and kill her off... and i doubt anyone can play her like Michelle Pfeifer did!
Best wishes,
Chris

Oh no, I don't think anyone will be able to top Michelle Pfeifer's performance either. But in a lot of the current comic incarnations of Batman, she's still a villain, so I think its likely she'll show up in the movies as one.

Thank you for the info!
I donΒ΄t read the comics so IΒ΄m not very informed about any storylines!
I really hope if she is going to appear in a movie again she will be like the CW Pfeiffer played...
I think Batman needs a lady on his side and she would be the real one...
BTW: AinΒ΄t Catwoman married and mother in some comic storylines?
Best wishes,
Chris

You're welcome! And I hope so too. As for her being a married mother, I have no idea. I know they made her the mother of The Huntress in the live-action Birds of Prey TV series, but otherwise, I have no clue.

It's called a "Reboot" dear, and yes it starts the Batman Mythos from scratch with this new, edgier, darker outlook, instead of the "campiness" we associated with the old movies and villains. I mean, Schwarzenager as Mr. Freeze... does anyone not shudder to remember that?
It -would- be rather nice to see Ivy in a future Batman film, I'd love to see her in a new, edgier, darker sort of aspect, perhaps as a crusader in her own right, fighting for plants the way Batman fights for people. And yes, it was just a touch sad to see Joker without his usual suspects surrounding him, like Harley. Ultimately, however, I think that was their goal, to make this Joker a loner and a drifter who formed no attachments, and thus was easier to be more unpredictable and dangerous.
The movie ruled. But they're going to have a hell of a time toping it.
