Description
This is a piece I've been chewing on all week - it started as a bit of a lark during one of my lunch hours, and it just kept getting more and more detailed... You know how those things go. I wound up with a drawing I like quite a bit. I will most likely color this later on.

It was also nice to see the sketches of the Song In The Sky project too, I'm glad you saved those, a lot of your art has helped with mine recently, it's very inspiring!

I have had many people ask me how I put projects together, so I usually save and post the different stages for that reason. I also like to be able to show my art trade people and my commission people their projects in-progress so that they know I'm actually working on them!

I love your super detailed pictures!
I really like the Asian dragon look of this one and the fin things along its side are very interesting, particularly in terms of the way you put the pattern into them. It reminds me of ancient manuscripts or something.

I wanted a different kind of "wing" idea, so I thought I'd try for a design that was halfway between "wing" and "flipper". I'm not sure if those feather-like things are actually feathers, or if they're some kind of leathery flap, or what. It just seemed like a good idea at the time...

The scales aren't all that hard to do - I lay in a grid and just round a couple of edges in order to get them to look like they're layered. I was amazed by how easy it was when I stumbled onto the technique. It *is* tedious, though... But I really like the effect. I'm glad you do also.
