What is your dream car? Chances are it's not exactly the same as another person's dream car, as it should be. The idea of the "dream car" varies from person to person, each individual mind choosing, and sometimes crafting, a vehicle based on that individual's tastes and personality. But how many people can claim to think out their vehicle so thoroughly? Or for that matter, how many people will totally transform a vehicle and still keep the original bloodline and spirit intact?

Well, Fox did exactly that. The product of all of that is an absolute beast of a machine. One that although totally transformed still remains a purebred of its breed, a bloodline that dates back ages and is reveled by auto enthusiasts, JDM lovers, and total fanboys alike.

That family linkage, is the Nissan Skyline GT-R. And this car is family blood both purified and modified. The car is Rioko.

Rioko's gone through several stages over the years, evolving with the times. This is the latest version of the machine, with plenty of tricks up its piston sleeve. Based on the NΓΌr revision of the M-Spec Skyline GT-R, a rare model with a focus on exclusivity and luxury, this machine is powered by the fabled RB26DETT twin-turbo inline-6 engine, specifically the reinforced, gold-pained N1 version that comes with NΓΌr-spec cars. That reinforcement is critical, as the engine is tuned to deliver a staggering 840hp. And although higher numbers can easily be reached with RB engines, there's more than enough here to make this car reach insane speeds without effort.

Everything on Rioko is made, chosen and installed with a fine-tooth comb. In fact, there's virtually nothing left behind of the original car. A bespoke widebody kit is built-in, with totally-resculpted front bumper mounted via quick-swap rail system, JGTC-style fender flares, and a JGTC-style rear half-bumper. The hood is unpainted carbon fiber, and is made from scratch with a center scoop and twin extractor vents on the left and right edges. The spoiler is bolted directly to the body and is fully adjustable. The mirrors are custom, the exhaust is re-routed to the passenger-side door sill, even the headlights are totally unique to this ride. No stone has been left unturned in the creation of this race-spec machine.

Regardless of which stage Rioko's been, the spirit is the same, as well as the general look. Painted in Lightning Yellow with a custom scallop vinyl and blacked-out six-spoke wheels, custom-made in this case. Another thing that remains the same is heritage. What I mean by this is that Rioko has a unique trait of being true to Skyline origin. The paint is factory stock, the engine is still an RB, and the powertrain is R34 at its finest. There's an odd mix of transformation and respect to this ride, possibly best shown in 2 ways: first, the entire interior is stripped of damn near everything, yet the stock dashboard remains, with a fully-functional second-generation Nismo Multi-Function Display. And second, not even the pursuit of weight savings has allowed the GT-R badging to disappear. In some way, shape or form, it's all there! This thing's a Skyline, and damn proud of it!

I tried to be as faithful to the original design as possible. Unfortunately, not even the Mona Lisa can escape me without a turbo installed somewhere. That said, I made the most subtle of changes, in an effort to help out a couple of weak points in the car's aerodynamics. First, the original hood pins have been changed for newer AeroCatch latches. These are used on modern race cars as well, and are lightweight and available with locks while remaining totally flush with the body and keeping air resistance to a minimum. And second, I made a change to the grille. Originally there was a center post for the sake of having a painted-on version of the GT-R badge. While looking good and light, it wasn't the best idea for air flow, so the post has been ditched for a mesh grille with a GT-R logo attached to it. The logo is made from a flat sheet of carbon fiber, laser-cut to make the letters. The GT is normal carbon, the R is silver carbon with red clearcoat to give a look that I believe is stunning.

I've spent 3 whole months working on this picture. I really hope that it shows, and that it makes everyone happy. I sincerely hope you all like it.

Ownership disclaimer: The design for Rioko is NOT mine, it belongs to . This picture was done as a gift.

You know, your work does show in this one mate. Good job. I think what I would of done was striped out the old Japanese engine and replaced it with a Chevy big block 572 with the transmission from a Camaro. Aluminum drive shaft and an upgraded Axel. then for suspension I'd strip out whats in it and upgrade it to a FOX Suspension that is built for rally cars that can fly off 40 foot jumps at 100 miles an hour, land on all 4s' and keep going.
For wheels and stooping power, I'd steal the breaks off an old dodge ram, upgrade the pads to racing spec and there ya go! Finally for the rims and tires I'd go with a set of Chip Foose rims and make sure they can take the torque from that big block, and have them look like the ones you've drawn up, and for tires, a set of Good Year racing tires, medium. Also, I'd recommend patching up the chaises with fish plates welded at critical locations so It can TAKE the toruqe.

Very nicely done picture, I like it.

That would weigh it down a lot. Plus he wanted to stay faithful to the spirit of the Skyline; putting a Camaro engine inside one is like smashing a Skyline's window: disrespectful

Also, the car is TOTALLY original, except from the pardoned parts (engine, dashboard, etc.) and putting brakes from a Ram and Foose wheels makes it unoriginal. Trust me, I know Chris and he prefers to stay original
