Description Jupiter Before the Explosion

This was actually the flame before I tranformed and mutated it into its finished product [link]

It may be hard to believe due to its irony but I actually was gonna submit this for the contest but then found the equation y= (1.5x)/2+0.64812 - inverted +2 (linear)= exlposion

But after rendering explosion, I retraced my steps to the orange ball. I created my own gradient and added the tilt of the planet. Ofcourse with creating my own gradient, it wasnt perfect so the top seems a bit transparent lol. The two lines fusing together with a bright glow in the middle is what cause the explosion - the gases on Jupiter with one of its unknown rocks mixed... and hence the inverted colour of orange = blue.... some of my friends will know that I have a reason, a story and an excuse for more or less anything and everything... Hope you followed that, if not, better luck next time hehe

My major achievements in this are achieving the the effect of the 'planetary tilt' and getting the white strip near the bottom. I might tidy it up a bit later... a border and c.e's

comments and favs are highly appreciated as usual.

Hi there, I really love this piece. I'm a writer and would love to use this for a cover for a free online ebook (with potential to possibly publish in the future).

I'd like to get your permission to use it! Please let me know, either way.

super cool! i love jupiter... even more than earth (yeah, yeah, don't go calling me planet biast or anything)! it would be pretty neat if jupiter is actually a thin spherical cloud with a white hole in the center.

So, that's Jupiter under its thousands of miles of toxic clouds... how big is the rock part then?

Really great Jupiter! It's soooo hard to get everything exactly 'where' you want it and you did that very well.

This is gorgeous! Although I don't understand all the math and such involved I so love fractal art!

Thanks, it takes a little while for the maths to click - I only understand a small aspect of it

I think this is why I am an avid admirer of ALL fractal artists rather than being one myself And I've decided that if this first fractal-turned-cross stitch turns out fantastic (and I know it will) I'm going to be asking permission to convert your art into mine hahahaha. The deal would be that YOU the artist would be sent the end result (I'm thinking pillows because the sizes are such that they make fantastic pillows), so if you are interested please let me know

I dont know what to say! Im flattered by this offer but there might be a few glitches as I am 14 years old and other issues which I may be unaware of.

Well, being a parent myself I understand the "issues". Never fear, I'm not anything to worry about and the pillow could be sent to wherever your parents felt comfortable............it's all good with me

The shadow effect at the top is great; it kind of reflects that one of Jupiter's many moons is hovering above or something. I just watched a show about it around an hour ago, such irony. Brilliant work, it looks great.

It looks like a porthole-view of an explosion over a stormy orange sea beneath a transparent sky ... can't help the feeling of distance and depth. Much less a solid planet than a distorted view of a sytrange, alien world.

...wow. I can't say anything about the equations, but it's pure magic in my opinion. It's airy and light while giving the planet substance and colour. *favs*
