Life in Equestria had been great so far, you mused.

You had a good and well paid job in Ponyville, working for the Post Office. How you landed a managerial position straight after coming here was beyond you, but you were obviously made of the right stuff.

It was getting late outside the modest but well furnished home you had built near Sweet Apple Acres with the help of the Apple Family. Seeing Big Macintosh work on your home had been an eye opener, you remembered. Tireless, unending strength- as if he was a machine.

You chuckled to yourself. Applejack had helped out immensely, and little Applebloom had spent the days riding on your shoulders while you worked, and she chatted your ears off! Even Granny Smith had been over to supervise and keep everyone hydrated and full of delicious cider and home cooked meals.

You loved them all as if they were family, and you knew that the feeling was mutual. Granny Smith had been the one to tell you, "As far as the Apples are concerned, youngin'- yer one of us!"

Sweet memories, all of them. You wouldn't trade any of it for the world.

You were just been sitting down on your sofa, enjoying your favourite beverage when a trio of knocks came from your door.

Strange, you thought. You were not expecting visitors, especially not at this advanced hour. As you got up and headed towards the door, you glanced at the clock- 10.35PM.

For Equestria, that was very late. Who could it be you wondered as you grabbed the door handle and opened your heavy wooden door.

You were surprised to see a deer at your door, wearing a dog's collar of all things. She was quite obviously female, and rather cute. A blush was upon her face, and she was evidently rather nervous as evidenced by her somewhat twitchy movements.

"E...Excuse me, I... I appear to have gotten lost and separated from my friends. D... Do you mind if I crash here and wait for them?" She had a similar manner of speech to Twilight Sparkle, yet accented. Your thoughts led you to think of perhaps a Spanish or Portuguese accent? You couldn't be certain.

Poor girl, you thought. Opening the door fully, you stood back to allow her into your abode, and responded with a smile,"Of course, come on in and make yourself comfortable! Care for any refreshments?"

She smiled sweetly, that rosy blush underlining her pretty brown eyes, "Yes please, plain old water would be wonderful," she replied.

You closed the door and beckoned her towards your kitchen...

And this was where your story truly began, all those years ago. A lost doe, who would eventually become your closest friend.

And here you were, sitting on that same old sofa many years later, Cypress lay sleeping across your lap, and you stroked her as if she was a pet dog.

Just the way she always liked it, you thought with a grin.

Hello everyone!

Today I am still on a bit of a deer binge, so I bring you a base edit of Cypress, one of my oldest and most beloved characters. This was really fun to do, and I loved putting this edit together!

For over a year, I have been writing a big story regarding Cypress and her friends, but afyer reading it again- I have now cancelled it, as it got far too edgy without me even realising it. Shame, I was over quarter of a million words into it. As there was so much to fix, I just deleted the lot, and will restart a new version once I've got all of the characters reforged, as it were. Thank God I hadn't uploaded any of it anywhere! XD

As per usual I completed the edit with Ibis Paint X on my Android mobile phone with no stylus, and the edit took just under two hours to complete. I took my time with this and got her looking exactly as I wanted her.
