Description The others had told her to search the woods for their missing compatriot, and Willow had done so without complaint. To their faces anyway. Willow knew why she was out here on her own. The others could barely tolerate her presence. Apart from Sycamore- that girl was as close to a friend as Willow had, or would likely ever have.

Such was the life of a supposedly emotionless Pariah- an abomination in the eyes of the tribe that had adopted her, her ways were so far opposed to that of her people. Willow stamped a cloven hoof angrily, and kicked a rock into the stream before her, the stone splashing into the water with a plop.

Still, Hazel's word was law out here on this mission, and she had done as ordered. Searching this thrice-cursed forest for Cypress. And within a few minutes, it had become.obvious that she was not here, and had never even come here. Willow's magic had made certain of that. The place was full of life of varying kinds, but not a single deer apart from her own magical signature.

Willow couldn't wait to be done with this mission so she could go home and retrieve her meagre belongings, and finally get away from the village forever. What was the point of living as someone that was an "inconvenience" to the elders.

They adopted her. They could have cared more. But there was no turning back time and reversing her situation. Willow had heard their voices behind her back, insulting her, and wishing her away. They had called her an emotionless, unfeeling drone. Willow had been bullied her entire life, and she carried the physical and mental scars to prove it. She supposed that in a way, she had grown to hate almost all of her own people.

No. Hate was a strong word to use, even for her, but she supposed that contempt was closer to the mark. A burning, all-encompassing contempt, especially for the Elders. Despite their preachy, supposed wisdom, none of them had ever even asked her how she felt. Not since she began to grow antlers and then manifest magic.

"She is a witch! An Abomination! Take her from this place and throw her to the wolves!"

That was her own adoptive mother who had voiced that particular evil back when Willow was but a young fawn. And it was but one of countless comments of this kind. Willow had never forgiven them, and would never forget so long as she drew breath. Her powerful magic had made her capable of great violence, and the temptation to unleash all of it upon the tribe was oh so tempting.

But no. Willow might be a Pariah in their eyes, persona non grata- but she had some standards. Instead, she stored her anger, let it build up, and then channeled it in battle. The team that she was a part of would try diplomacy, or try to injure rather than kill.

Not so for Willow. For those that opposed her, the only option was the grave. The others had more conventional weapons, but she had saddlebags full of flint spearheads she launched like throwing knives with her telekinesis, aimed invariably at weak points like throats, eye slits in helmets, or joints in plate armour.

And if the target was unarmoured? Well, it wouldn't end well for them, that was for certain.

Willow shook her head of the thoughts of battle, for she had been in the forest for a few hours, mainly in the attempt to calm down from the injustice of it all. She still had a job to do, however much she wished she could run away right now.

She stood by the stream and closed her eyes, focusing on the sound of the water. Not even birdsong rang out from the canopy of trees around her. A twisted smile grew across her face- even the birds and other critters here couldn't stand to be around her, despite how much she actually liked animals.

Well, to Tartarus with them, she thought angrily.

Willow opened her eyes once more and stepped away with a blank expression towards the trail that led out towards the nearby pony town, and where she would rendezvous with Hazel's team.

To noone in particular, she muttered under her breath, "Once I'm through with this cursed mission, I'm done with all this..."

Hello everyone, this character is a part of the main group of deer OCs that I use in my Alternate Universe of MLP, and is a follow on to the short story about Cypress, and the edit depicting three of the other members of their team. There is one more to depict and then that group is complete.

This edit was a slow process, but I got there in the end. Deciding on a new manestyle took way longer than I had hoped, but as per usual- I completed the edit with Ibis Paint X on my Android mobile phone with no stylus, and it took about an hour and a half to do.

The base used for this edit can be sourced right here: www.deviantart.com/elementbase…

And of course, the background that I utilised for this edit can be sourced here: www.deviantart.com/dipi11/art/…

Thanks for checking out what I've been working on! I hope you've enjoyed this little diversion, and as always- take care of yourselves, and I'll catch you next time! ^^
