Description Title:
Vesper - evening star, evening.
I think biggest influence over the title was the light and color overall. But also those little ships.

Story:
As some of you can see, it's pretty similiar to Epilogue, I won't lie here it is. But to be hones it wasn't my intention at all, I think I just love that color, aqua or sea green. Also, one of my inspirations here were lightrays I've seen yesterday so I thought "why not...". And, it's the mix of 3 works I've been working on, so Planets are from one work, nebula from other and rest from thrd. I'm glad I didn't delete that like I usually do

Nice one m8. Ik stoped working on so many layers. It gave me the feeling after a while that to be afraid making mistakes. U know what i mean? Anyway, great drawing!

I always work on many layers exactly because it let me erase the mistakes easily I'm trying to avoid applying image, and working on whole composition though
It's all matter of style I think
Thanks!

132 layers?!?! Holy crap! I thought I was pushing it when I'd hit a couple dozen.

Beautiful work, particularly the overall lighting effects.

I usually do as many layers as I can, so if I have to change anything I don't have to make the work from the beginning
Thank you very much

Very cool image, although I don't get why everyone adds in tons of rocket paths. I really think them to be a distraction from the real beauty of the planets.

Well, I always wanted to make spaceships, but I didn't had enough skills these days, so I just made those tiny ships just to have some ships, also this is populated planet, and they're going on a trip somewhere
Thanks for the watch and favs!

I think the planet can benefit from softer shadow and city lights transition

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

R3V4N In reply to Pr3t3nd3r [2009-04-12 22:21:09 +0000 UTC]

Hmm.. I tried some techniques about lights transitions but they wasn't very effective :/
I've seen some works, but those circles and lines, they don't convince me..
Well, it's all about constructive criticism isn't it?
We need to evolve

Yup, you're right, shadow could be softer here, I just saw that.
Thanks for the support mate

Pr3t3nd3r In reply to R3V4N [2009-04-14 21:24:06 +0000 UTC]

No, no, I'm not talking about circles and lines cities, just the border where cities end should be softer so as shadow Like small dots of low opacity city glows

I'm curious as of how you did the starfield (and the background in general) as it really stands out in particular. The way you have created the various star dust and nebulas are amazing and especially how the lighting shines on the planet. for an excellent piece of art.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

R3V4N In reply to Kradious [2009-01-23 15:03:38 +0000 UTC]

Well, the starfield is all made with noise filter and then Brightness/Contract options
Then I go and erase some parts, and some I'm cloning with Screen blending options. Stripes are just individual part of work over bigger stars
Here's that tutorial: [link]
Cheers and thanks for the fav

DoubleForte [2008-11-30 04:35:07 +0000 UTC]

Very epic sense of scale on this one (the little ships help.) Do you create your planet from scratch? And if so, how do you make it look so perfect?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

R3V4N In reply to DoubleForte [2008-11-30 09:14:13 +0000 UTC]

Well, I'm making it from many diferent textures
Merge, trying diferent blending options and so. This planet here is best so far imo, but that's only my opinion
