I think the biggest problem to begin with is that I wonder why the hell people are staring at teenagers and wondering what they're doing

I didn't hear it by myself, but I know what they are thinking through many artworks represent about "face on phone" society.
They compare the pic of teen on their phone to the old pic of people read books on the train.
Then some old people on Facebook will comment like... "that's what I don't like about our grandchild." "Youth these days read no book, how shame"
Which I think it's incomparable and stupid...
A phone can do lots of things, and reading is a big part of it.
So judging people who spend time on their phone is just unfair, cause we don't really know what they are doing, and we don't need to.
What our society needs is everyone should mind their own business and stop judging others.

Every time I heard some old people (yup, I never heard it from the younger generation) looking at me on my phone in the metro and say something about kids nowadays are always on their phone bla bla bla
I just want to offer them to read what I actually read on the phone...
and say things like,
"If you wondering about what I do with my phone that much, then take a look at it so you don't have to talk behind me, sir."
If anyone uses their phone to Read, Play game or anything else, still it is totally not their business to judge.
Just like people read a newspaper in public when they have nothing to do in the old days. Not thing is wrong for entertaining yourself while waiting for something.
