Slaves & prisoners do indeed often become sacrifices, less than human as they are often considered....
Love the contrasting expressions, sad resignation on the left & fearful anticipation right....clearly the poor sacrifice sees the dragon/creature/knife bearing priest approaching from her left to seal her fate.
The seeming sacrificial 'clothing' she wears is also a unique touch. You can guess it's not meant to give the otherwise naked slave any undeserved dignity in her final moments, but (just speculating) simply part of the ritual to drape the sacrifice in fabrics bearing incantations, to make her an acceptable offering to whatever god her captors believe in.
