heY here's my first drawing i'm posting, this thing took about an hourit's a uhhhhhhh drawing based off of a random model i found on pinterest
so i'm really new at deviantart and i have no idea what i'm doing so bare w/ me

So if this is freehand as I suspect how did you achieve your nice proportions, do you just start with a particular spot and continue from there as some artist's are capable of. Personally I use a grid, I used to draw often enough to get proportions right just beginning with an eye and moving on from there but I don't draw so often now and a grid has become my crutch.

when I draw freehand, typically I find it's best to constantly compare and check to make sure the proportions are correct. Just constantly correct mistakes and constantly refer to the original reference to make sure everything is accurate.
I find it's best to start on the outlines and then do details next.
Also, I often use a grid to draw, it's nothing to be ashamed of! : )
