Description Quad 23mm "Crowd Suppression System" mounted on a Cavalier chassis.

Based on the German Whirlwind AA tank from World War 2. So yeah this a retro design and not based on practicality. Reckon it looks good though!

Hey man. Im writing a sci fi novel and this would look great in a scene i have imagined. If youre interested I have a few ideas to change this and make it into my novel.

Its ok. Im still working on the novel. The seen I had wanted to do was a light skirmish between marines at a supply station and a large group of enemy infantry. I like this tank because Im a hardcore WW2 fan, especially of German equipment. I was thinking of adding side skirts over the tracks, while also adding an HMG on the back of the turret so a supporting infantry man could mount and provide close anti infantry defense, lol, not that many would try to get close to those quad death dealers. But its like an ambush seen where this tank saves the battle and turns back the enemy, all before shooting down an few enemy hovercraft.

Doesn't look that far away from ZSU-24-4 "Shilka". Nice design!

Hmmm... I see pros and cons to this design. On the plus side you could have men standing and firing on all sides and they could easily evac if someone lobbed in a grenade. Also the blast would mostly be contained to the inside.
You also wouldn't want to be fully enclosed with those guns because it would be very loud and hot with smoke and spent casings everywhere.
The down side is that if someone hucked a Molotov cocktail or a jar of ...bodily fluid...you'd really be left hating life.
I suppose a metal screen, or even a raised solid canopy might work.
I would call these rollers Pop-Tops

And then a grenade ruined everything.

Still, very nice design. Very well detail, and a good mix of WWII and modern.

This is very nice. Favorited!

This is actually a very logical AFV design for a variety of technical reasons that I won't bore anyone with (as I have a tendency to talk too much.)

Looks good. "Crowd" can also mean a whole bunch of enemy soldiers!

Crowd suppression? What ind of crowd do you plan on taking on that you need a quad 23mm!
With this firepower, there is not much crowd left after you let loose.

Hahaha ah yeah!! So what?! Who likes crowds anyway!? nah the whole idea wasnt very serious anyway, like an open topped turret, and androids

I tend to analyze the work i see, thinking "What was the idea of the artist, how would it work, what funtion should it serve to" and such.
Some times, it leads to correct assumptions, sometimes to quite funny new ideas.
I this case, i try to imagine what kind of crowd would be necessary to be fought with such a weapon/tank. Kinda fearsome.

yeah i see what u mean, most of the time i do the same, and actually most of the models i draw are like that. every detail i put on it has to have a purpose. in this case i was actually imagining either zombies or hordes of alien critters.. :/

I prefer the chaos beasts and their background, coming from the sea of souls itself: the WARP!

Quesocito In reply to Heretic1311 [2013-02-26 19:36:56 +0000 UTC]

I dono those things just look so nasty. And they a bit too much of a "cheat". Like the designers took a short cut to victory. I prefer the dark elder or something if we gonna talk chaos aspected.

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Heretic1311 In reply to Quesocito [2013-02-26 19:42:00 +0000 UTC]

AFAIK the dark eldar or NOT chaos: they hunt and enslave other species, mainly humans, for slave labor and (!)to make live-enlonging drugs out of them(!), since they have no soul crystaly, to protect themself from being swallowed by Slanesh as soon as they die.
But you are right, they use (barely) tamed chaos hounds, or something like that.
Otherwise they are just hedonistic sadists, but not corrupted by chaos itself.

Quesocito In reply to Heretic1311 [2013-02-28 11:53:03 +0000 UTC]

ur right buddy! but they are "chaos aspected" so i see them as the "chaos" version of normal eldar, even though they arent chaos actually, they are as close to chaos as i'll ever use.. do u maybe play any of the warhammer games? (pc or board game)

Damn... busted...
Yeah, i played Ultra Marines (40k) and Dwarfs (Fantasy) and was about to start with World Bearers (40k) and Chaos Barbarians (Fantasy) when i lost my gaming partners. I still read the White Dwarf monthly.
