I don't see a significant connection outside of the whole wild-girl-escorts-hero-reluctantly-through-old-enchanted-forest trope.

It's on Netflix instant watch, and it's a pretty fun animated movie about a famous illuminated manuscript. I would check it out. The animation is GORGEOUS and the story is quite cute.
