Description annnnd I think I am done . Back last November did a lineart as part of a collab, I was to colour the picture and I have finally finished it.

I have been working on this on and off since then, I have totally lost track how many hours I put into it but I enjoyed working on it . I used it as an opportunity to practise my backgrounds and I feel really pleased with it, I feel like it's one of my best.

I found I kept playing about with different parts and wanted to add more and more to it but yeah, I didn't want to distract from the characters but give them a setting for them to belong in, to be dancing in.

Anyway, I hope you like it Ore, thanks for doing the collab with me.

Also if you want to see any of the smaller details download it .

This is a really beautiful piece. I love the way you did the lighting and how it kind of reminds me of a traditional piece despite the fact that it is indeed a digital piece c: I particularly adore the horse anthro and how you colored her, the textures look fantastic!

oh my gosh thank you so much! It is interesting to hear you find it reminds you of a traditional piece, I guess because I did it I see it as digital so I have to wonder what aspects make it seem that way for others .
But because I originally did a lot of traditional art, I also take that description as a huge compliment <3.

awww you like my little pony Gwendolyn, thank you! I really need to draw her again. Both these characters were very enjoyable to colour , thank you so much, I feel humbled you feel that way about the textures in this piece .

I think it's the textures that make it seem so much like a painting instead of a digital piece to me c: I really admire the affects in this piece. I do traditional art because I suck at digital, but I don't have a way to post decent pictures of it e.e So I don't post things very often.

But gah! She's so cute! You really should draw her again c:

ahh right, well I am glad to hear that then, as I have worked hard to achieve some more texture in my digital art, as before my digital colouring looked very flat and plastic. DX.

awww I'm sure with plentyΒ  of practise you will achieve a digital art style you feel pleased with . The only issue I do have with digital art, is when I go back and do some traditional work, if I make a mistake there is a part of my brain that looks for an undo button.

thanks!, I do enjoy drawing her, there is another character she has a crush on and he is really tall, so it is fun to draw them together just to see the height comparison

Yeah x.x That's the issue I have now. And shading.

Thank you! My main issue right now is lack of a tablet. I use my mouse touchpad on my laptop x.x
XD I know that feeling

AH! I KNOW HOW THAT GOES!! XD My OCs Vina and Cloudy are best friends and Cloudy is a shorty and Vina is super tall. So it's fun to draw them together.

you will get there in the end , just keep striving.

Oh man! I am glad to hear I wasn't the only one! before I got my tablet I used to use the laptop touchpad D8, finger used to cramp up something awful.

I love seeing how short and tall characters interact, they look so cute together :3.

Thank you!

XD As am I! I thought I was the only one x.x I actually plan on getting an iPad and using a new program to draw via there c:

Me too! These two are besties XD

that's awesome!, I have seen some folks makes some really awesome digital art with an ipad . Tablets are nice if you can work with them but I found I struggled with guessing where the pointer was going to go. Like I wanted to draw a curved line but it came out straight instead DX.
I eventually invested in a cheap tablet pc and got on so much better .

awww, so much fun for the two to share then 8D.

I struggle with looking at a computer screen and moving my hands to draw. I need to watch my hands as I draw x.x Tablet PC? o:

Yes n.n

yup, I had that same problem and sometimes when you plan it to go a particular direction, sometimes it doesn't quite go in that direction. So, I always struggled with my normal tablet. Even having plenty years of practise with the darned thing.

Yup, I got it before Ipads came out, so think of a more clunky looking ipad lmao xD. but it is great as I can actually see where I am drawing and can control the stylus so much easier.

queenmoreta In reply to silaonna [2014-10-14 07:08:38 +0000 UTC]

about $150, and a little extra to get it through customs . but it does exactly what I want it and I didn't have to fork out over Β£1000 for a Cintiq .

yeah Cintiqs sound awesome but waaay out of our league if we can't afford that sort of cash but I was happy to find a cheaper alternative, so I do try and recommend it to folks .

Such beautiful architecture and light. All those cobblestones must have taken some patience, but it was worth it!

queenmoreta In reply to Sheshin [2014-06-18 15:46:45 +0000 UTC]

I am very proud, backgrounds are one of my weaknesses so I feel this is my best background to date . I think the last background I did that wasn't what I would call "in the middle of nowhere" was my Sonic 3D level pictures and my Autumn picture .

so yes I am very proud of this , I also made sure to write out HOW I did things in this as in the past I have experimented, found I really liked how I did something but couldn't remember how I did it. Now I can use previous techniques to use in future pictures .

Holy crap woman~! I was expecting something simple when you said a BG was in the works, but this is--damn. O_o; It looks SUPER fantastic and was well worth the wait~! The way you did the stain glass on the building and the reflection of it in the background is amazing~! That architecture--geez~! I couldn't do that in a million years if I tried. I love all the little details in this~! Lovely work on Layla-Ne's kimono too!! I love it~ I love it~! Thanks for spending so much time on it!!

fweeeee! I am very glad you like it, I was getting a bit paranoid I took ages with it, so I am glad you feel it is worth the wait. backgrounds being my weakness I wanted to make it look nice and give them and pretty setting to dance in 8D.

I am so super happy you noticed the stained glass windows reflection and that it looks alright, along with Layla-Ne's kimono .

gleeeee, That's okay, I enjoyed working on it X3 and I loved working on your lineart. I am very glad you love the picture, again thanks for doing the collab with me .

Backgrounds a weakness feels like such a silly, exaggerated comment when I look at this. Look at it~ I mean c'mon! It's amaze! You did an amazing job on it~!

I love arts~! I look at every little detail, and this one has so much detail eye candy~! I really love those little flower designs for Layla-Ne's kimono~! They're so beautiful!!

Anytime! That's for the offer! I really loved drawing little Gwen and Layla-Ne together~! It was such fun!

thankyoouuuu, hehehe really?? well that just makes me feel all the more that it's my best background then.

I know right!, I love finding lots of little hidden details X3, same brush I used for the picture I drew of her 8D but I used different shades of blue this time .

We will have to do another one some time .

I do; I do~! I mean, geez, that building is aligned perfectly on all sides and every possible angle~! I have the worst time ever with stuff like that. It always comes out so wobbly if I were to try that~! I love it~!

That we should~! This was certainly well worth the wait!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

queenmoreta In reply to oreana [2014-06-17 23:41:03 +0000 UTC]

Oh I assure you, I wobbled plenty of times when drawing the building out XD, shakey hands, don't you just love them! D8.

Gweeheehee X3. well if you ever get an idea let me know and I'll do the same if I get an idea. .
