Zelda really acts a lot older than him, to me. It's not a bad thing at all, only something that has just now hit me. But like she observed, his eyes hint that he's not exactly as childish as some of his playful actions let on.... As always, looking forward to more.

I can see how it comes off that way, but I don't think playful = childish though...
Playful is a behaviour, while childishness is a state of mind.

Hmmm... true. I had always thought that the state of mind, childishness, is what causes the playful behavior. Thinking on it more, though, that isn't necessarily the case.
Is it more like... I dunno, light-heartedness, then, as opposed to childishness?
(I'm not trying to argue or anything, I'm treating this a lesson in psychology/English for me, with you being the teacher. So that's why I'm rambling and asking questions like this, haha. To make sure I understand what you're saying.)
Either way, I'm very curious to find out what he's been through. You're a great storyteller.

And you're right about "light-heartedness"... that's a positive quality in anybody (it means that they have a sense of humour, and can see the brighter side of every dark scenario). Conversely, "childishness" is a negative trait - it means selfishness (that you act like a three year-old when you don't get your way).
