..Prince. I just wanted to draw somebody with a guitar, and Prince came to mind, so I drew Prince. Yes, finally the finished product. I went into photoshop to add the black and went into Painter to add the "Purple Rain" (get it, purple rain) I hope yall enjoy it.I got the picture from google.

The purple rain was a great idea...tres cool. The Fender Telecaster looks real too. You captured the texture of the polished maple neck accurately.
Prince is one of my all time favorites. Great stuff.

Well, similar to CREAM, you used a figure to fill the picture plane and relied on color to give your subject movement and personality. I really like your pencil portraits as well, but this tends to appear painted due to your stroke and shading techniques. You might enjoy two very cool books by Ann Kullberg, a prismacolor artist at Annkullberg.com Capturing Soft Realism in Colored Pencil and Colored Pencil Portraits Step by Step. As I recall, she also has some inexpensive CDs. Colored pencils are made of the same stuff as oil paints, only the binders differ. Therefore, you are effectively painting with them. So what I was referring to was painting spontaneous poses (action) of persons in their trades with the tools of their trades. You automatically capture likeness and personality, so photographing interesting poses is the key. Perhaps start with some of the stock photography on dA, or whatever, but if you get a series going, you can probably get some prints out of them fairly easily.
