all those touches of red to create that sore, beaten flesh is really disturbing...much more so than the faceless man. This looks really sexual in nature and I'm really intrigued what you felt when you painted it. BUT, I'm glad you didn't tell us because it leaves me guessing.

I think its the strange within the context of the normal.
And it so very normal, the casual way the man is turning to look back- as if he had eyes. Her hand on his shoulder, even has a plaster on her arm.

i really dig showing physical injuries. I've been using the band-aid since i was a kid. i use casts a lot too. i would like to say it is something profound like a symbolic representation of emotional injuries... but really i just think it's cool.
