I'm always afraid of what might happen when Louis meets Santiago, like I know Louis is crafty enough to get out of a sticky situation but I get the feeling that Santiago would snap him in half like the toothpick he is!

For the time, James is normal height, about 157cms. It's Louis that's the freak of nature.

Hey, Rainwater, you could repeat what the theme of HAT is, again? I know you've been asked this a hundred times, but I'm still not getting a proper hold. I think I remember you once said it wasn't anti-religious and that is was supposed to be a representation of how homosexual people aren't as silly and stupid as people mark them to be, but i'm not quite getting the vibe. Care to elaborate?

Honour Amongst Thieves was initially inspired by gender inequality in animation and the media. But the concept has since developed to address issues related to religion, the government, and liberal thinking. The story now warns about letting power and greed get to your head; both government and religion underestimate the people to get what they want, and they are their own undoing, which the people just want to remind these two superpowers who gives them support and who enacted them in the first place.

That comment is directed at the hypocrisy within government and religion, Santiago both out to rob each other of gold that doesn't belong to them in the first place, yet they feel justified in their actions because they believe they are working for a higher power. Louis is not disillusioned with the idea that he is somehow above the other two simply because they don't agree with his philosophies, which is more than he can say for James and Santiago.

Yeah, see, cause I was thinking that he was in this mindset of "Well you two are petty, blind little followers of God and country and I, I the independent, fabulous Louis am above you two because I don't need God or government to tell me what to do, so screw you all." And I was thinking to myself, "That isn't the Louis I remember during production."

You need to see the entire body, and arms get in the way/hide the detail.

Taking away the arm for the side allows for the observer to better see the figure from that point without the arm obstructing the view.

We took photos last weekend of British naval uniforms, right around this period, at a museum.

It's so tough to find accurate costumes for me, a lot of fashion seems to get mingled. I'm going to be hitting up the documentaries and going to museums before this comic gets underway.

Its unfortunate that Religion is viewed so negatively...however I adore the concepts and symbolism behind each character, I had not realized how poignant it all was. I am very excite for their adventures and am thrilled that this series is set during this time period!

I'm not anti-religion and plenty of my friends are religious, but I'm attempting to make a commentary on the corruption of religious superpowers and governments that I see a lot today, but using piracy and a different period as a more interesting setting. Using conquistadors and the Spanish inquisition was intentional, as those were some of the darkest moments of religion in history, in my opinion.

You are absolutely correct, the injustices of religion were record high in that time, and that's why I think your message works because it applies to the era. I am just personally sad for past mistakes and how corrupted institutions are currently, because humans are using it for their own motives. However I hope you know that there are still many who are actually living by the principals of their faiths

I think I left a comment on here before, but I do not see it now so I shall type it again. First off, I love the character designs and how they reflect each unique personality. I am confused on one point, though. It is clear to me what Louis and James represent, but does Santiago symbolize religion as a whole or just when it is taken to extremes? Sorry if I am spamming your page.
