Description Hey, who else was traumatized by the last episode of Game of Thrones? Or the corresponding scene in the books, I guess. I haven't yet read the books. (Though I'd probably have been better off reading GRRMs pile of doorstops than Robert Jordan's pile of doorstops as a kid--I believe they kicked off around the same time?)

So, here's Catelyn, Robb, and Talisa Stark. I figured I'd make Red Wedding fanart and use no red (depending on what you call 'red'). And group hugs solve everything. Unless everyone's fucking dead already, in which case, IT'S ALL POINTLESS. Goddammit.

It's a very interesting piece and I love the fact that you've avoided drawing any blood.

I can't imagine what that scene was like to watch for anyone who hasn't read the books. I still wasn't fully prepared for it, I cried my eyes out, but it still hurt more when I read it. You should have seen me; I remember reaching the end of the chapter and just putting the book down on my lap for a while, sitting there and trying to process what had happened…

I don't fully remember the way that book ended (there's just so much, it's impossible to keep track) so I'm really looking forward to today's finale (well, tomorrow for me).

Well you know, I was expecting -something- bad to happen. I didn't think Frey was the sort of guy to just let a broken promise slide like that. I thought that at worst Robb was going to die, but I didn't think anyone else would. And I sort of thought that if Robb died, he would get killed in battle later on, maybe because Frey double crossed him.

I really, really want to read the books now! Though I don't know if I'd rather finish watching the series before that--realistically, though, the series won't be finished for years yet, and I'll get too curious about the books not to read them long before the TV series ends. But there's something to be said for not reading the books too soon before watching the adaptation; I remember, for instance, that when the first Lord of the Rings film came out I hadn't read the books in years, and I loved that movie. Then I reread all the books before the second film came out, and I had a hard time getting into the second movie because the book was so fresh in my mind that all the changes from the book to the movie really bothered me.

Does this season of GoT cover the whole next book in the series, or just the first half? I think I read somewhere that it was only going to cover the first half of the third book, because the third book was longer.

I'm really looking forward to the finale, too! Though I expect it will break my heart a little more, showing Arya's reaction to everything that happened. And Sansa's. And Brienne and the two boys and Jon Snow are all still going to have to find out, too, and all that will be crushing.

Yes, I think it was a given that something would happen to Robb at one point or another, and everybody could tell Frey wasn't going to let it go so easily. But Cat… I wasn't ready for Cat to go, not when her kids (most of whom she believes are dead) are scattered all over the realm. It's much worse in the book because that chapter is told from her point of view, so you get her last thoughts, and it's just… too much. It's also a bit more intense than what was showed. She goes berserk before they slit her throat.

And there's so much more to come because, argh, you were right, this season only covers about half of the corresponding book!! I've watched the finale and I was disappointed they stopped where they did. I understand why, of course, there's so much left they couldn't rush through without ruining it, but I'm still disappointed. The one good thing about splitting book 3 into two seasons is that it means it'll take longer to catch up (if GRR Martin doesn't hurry up, there will eventually be a problem). He's made a bit of a mess of the following books (I'm right in the middle of it at the moment) because he decided to split the narrative by character and location and that means sometimes going back and forth depending on whose point of view you're reading. It's complicated and I'm often having a hard time remembering everyone/everyone. So then I look up a character on Wikipedia and I've end up reading too much and accidentally spoiling myself a few times XD

That being said, I cannot recommend the books enough. Yes, there are changes, and some in this season have surprised/puzzled me, but not to the point where it really bothers me. Hopefully I'll have managed to catch up before season 4 next year!

This is a beautiful composition work and very telling pallet - corresponding to the concept.
