Full title: The Great Wheel - The Four Seasons

This piece was done for a contest with

The idea was to make a piece of knotwork depicting the four seasons. My knot has sort of wheel image formed from the composition, each spoke of the wheel forms a tree which diplays the adornment of the season. Between each tree I have included a scene from the respective seasons. The scenes feature animals which I feel represent those seasons. In the spring there is a buck running through sprouting fields and blooming trees. In the summer there is a black bear foraging for food in a lush forest. In the fall there is a raven flying among the falling leaves. And finally, in the winter there is a wolf hunting in the snow. Originally, I wanted to submit this piece for the contest as an animation, but I knew I wouldn't have time to finish it.
