I didn't take any courses in costuming specifically. I took a class in moldmaking and casting, but otherwise I'm self-taught.

Of course... the vision is through a mesh or sheer fabric near the inner part of the eyes. It's called tear-duct vision.
The mouth looks like it has been articulated so there should be great ventilation as well.
