Description
Throughout Japan there are many stories, myths, and legends surrounding its most haunted locations. None stranger and more terrifying than the myth surrounding 'Mura No Sairento Yoru' – Village Of The Silent Night. This large now abandoned village is located in a remote forest, isolated and surrounded by the beauty of nature, this village's name was derived from how peaceful and quiet nighttime is there. The history of the village is unclear, but a series of strange events involving a relic that fell from the sky lead its residents to madness. Over time it is believed the villagers made up of men, woman, and even children driven by madness believed to be caused by the relic killed each other off. There is one report unlike any other in which a visitor to the village witnessed unnaturally and severely deformed people being corralled and disappearing in the village, but this rumor has been widely unbelievable and repeatedly falsified by many... Though there is no physical evidence the people of the village seemed to vanished in the night on evening. Many are afraid to to mention this place and locals pretend to deny its existence. stories are passed around about people who have stumbled upon the village. These stories include people becoming insane, disappearing , and even few cases of people becoming sick and dieing after visiting this village. All of these stories have driven people to deem this village cursed...The most terrifying stories are about the sightings and encounters with the yurei(ghosts) that now reside in the village...They say these yurei are not of this world, some comparing them to Akuma(demons) as they say these yurei can hurt a physical being. Only very few descriptions of yurei have ever been heard from people who have been deemed insane after visiting the village. These people who are deemed insane after visiting describe these yurei as inhuman, twisted, frightening, and not of this world. A group of a few hardcore American Ghost hunting crews caught wind of these stories and decided to see for themselves if the rumors about the village are true, seeing this as being the pinnacle of their careers. Teaming up they traveled to Japan, daring to step foot into the 'Village Of The Silent Night'. Below is an encounter story #2 with a “Sacrificed Concubine Ghost”:
Thursday 10:00pm - Group: Seekers Of The Beyond - Carly, Wilson, Sharon -Wilson: Around 10:00pm we passed through the village to reach our investigation spot at the palace in the hills, investigating as we moved. This village seems to have lived up to its name as it was quiet and serene tonight. A bit of a disappointment as we were expecting to run into maybe a bit of paranormal activity on the way, but the night is still young... With Carly and Shannon we finally came across the large palace in the hills, believed to be the estate of the village head and other important political figures of the village. The size and scale of this building was astounding and I could not wait to get inside and start investigating. Sharon the group's psychic appeared to be very nervous while Carly and I were ecstatic to enter the palace. Sharon began to talk about feeling an energy she cannot comprehend, something unlike anything she has ever felt before in any of our numerous investigations of the most haunted locations around the world. Hearing this made my level of excitement explode as Carly and I opened the palace doors and entered inside. We entered the palace and gasped, the interior was gorgeous. It was hard to believe a building like this could be in such a far out village. As we moved forward into the main quarters, suddenly Shannon became very ill looking and felt out of breath. We laid her on a nearby couch as she appeared to zone out becoming unresponsive, we tried radioing back to hq but the batteries were strangely drained though the other equipment seemed to have decent battery life. I swore I could remember putting in fresh batteries before we left. I did not want this minor setback to ruin our investigation so I convinced Carly to stay with Shanon for awhile, while I would scope out nearby rooms in hopes of some activity.
I cannot say Shanon was wrong about her instincts, this place had an ominous feeling to it. Walking into nearby rooms this placed seemed almost untouched as most of the valuables of the previous residents were still intact. This shocked me as I thought looters would of ravaged this place in and out. Around the rooms I started to take photographs and even sat around to take some EVPs but as some time passed nothing seemed to happen. I soon came across this one miscellaneous room, nothing seemed special about it but I figured I'd try and get some EVPs while I was here. I sat on the bed and asked the typical EVP related questions. After I became a bit impatient and decided to go over the EVP I just did on my laptop in this room. Upon analyzing the recording, my heart started to pound and some adrenaline began to rush as it seemed to have picked up a voice. This voice sounded inhuman and distorted for the most part until another more legible voice entered the picture whispering “ Under...neath...now...” This followed by a loud distorted howl and the recording stopped. A couple minutes passed as I constantly and excited replayed the recording, while doing so I believed I began to hear a subtle weeping seeming to come from below me. I then got off the bed onto the floor to listen for its source. As my ear touched the wood floor I heard three large thumps coming from under the bed which slightly shook it. Finally I thought this is becoming exciting, soon after I went to stand and noticed scuff marks on the floor I previous didn't notice before, they may have been there before but I wasn't really paying attention to the floor when I was here. I followed the scuffs until they appeared to go under the bed. I became very curious and thought to myself there must be something there. I stood up and used all my strength to manually move the bed out of the way and noticed a sort of latch on the floor. I didn't hesitate to open it though it was rather heavy, it opened revealing a darkness below. I was more nervous with excitement than fear as I felt stairs that lead below. I turned on my video recording gear with my flashlight and began to head down into the darkness.
As I stepped down the stairs in a dark room I couldn't believe it, I may of found a secret quarter underneath this palace. Flashing my light around the room it looked well decorated and untouched. It had a sort of sensual Japanese aesthetic to it I thought as I walked around examining things. On the walls and on furniture where old artwork of beautiful women dressed in traditional clothing posing suggestive. After examining this area I concluded I must of found some sort of secret brothel, or a sort of chamber were the ruling class must of kept their concubines. The idea though maybe not 100% true was still exciting and believable. I noticed a door on the farside of the room, the curiosity of discovery lead me to it and I opened it as it lead to a long hallway. Becoming caught up in the discoveries I almost forgot of my true motive of investigating the strange supernatural occurrences here. So I fired up my EMF detector to check out any changes in the electronic fields. I down the long hallway I walked into a large space with a huge circular bed in the middle. While doing so I noticed a picture in the corner of the room of a beautiful woman, her piercing eyes seemed to stare into the depths of my soul. The atmosphere of the area around me suddenly changed, I felt as if I couldn't move my eyes away from the pictures gaze as the room around me seemed to phase out. As I was distracted the EMF started to flare and detect drastic changes in the field. The hairs on my body stood up straight and I felt a strange aura of dread. I then heard faint noises coming from the hallway behind me. It sounded as if something was stumbling towards me slowly then stopped. My body froze up in the way that it had similarly in the past during my first ghost investigations,I haven't felt a fear like this in a long time. Suddenly the stumbling grew faster and closer to the point that I began to hear a gargling noise accompanying it. I mustered the strength and turned around! I couldn't...believe...my eyes...the terror...It came close...doing something to me...I could feel it... I couldn't bear it...My skin crawled...I feel pain...in its awkward embrace...I felt myself slip away...

Curiosity killed the cat only I doubt this man will be coming back. He should have listened to the silent warning of his psychic and high tailed it out of that village while he still had the chance. A wonderfully creepy story. There are many legends from around the world that inspire fear, even in a nation as young as ours.
I refer to the mystery of the Lost Colony of Roanoke.

It is the oldest unsolved mystery in American history. All 115 colonists vanished without a trace but so did the Roanoke Indians.
Only one mistake: The name 'Croatoan' was left carved into a tree as a single clue. It is the name of a near by island.
No signs of a struggle or swift evacuation. All of the colonists belongings were left behind untouched.
