He's gonna need a heavy load of buckshot to get anywhere near to his targets.

Quite welcome. When the U.S. Marine Corps was first formed in 1775, their initial order for shipboard fighting was to use buckshot instead of round ball. Trying to hit a moving target while you're moving as well led to the decision.

I came across a piece on the American History Channel on satellite about the early days of the Marine Corps., and they demonstrated this feature with an old Brown Bess musket and some plywood cut-outs of some troops standing 70 yards away. And you could see the scatter pattern across them.

I really love the idea and the execution. If i could give one piece of advice. That's not how you hold a rifle while shooting.
