Recently, I've been in the mood to draw some Megaman 5 dudes. It was honestly an accident at first. I drew Gravityman and Napalmman and just as I was starting out on Chargeman did I realize that they're all from the same game. So of course, I also drew Crystalman, Starman and Waveman. Sorry Gyroman and Stoneman.... I just don't have a real opinion on you yet lol.

So, do I just start from the top left? Wait... why am I writing in cursive? The hell? How do I turn this off? What the fuck did I press? In Germany you would say "Da hab ich wohl gewurstfingert."

Well let's just ignore that lol. Wait what it's off again. Very strange. I still don't know how I did that.

Anyway where was I. In the top left is Waveman just going for a relaxing swim. In his lane. Unbothered. Right next to that is him practicing his autism stare.

Under that... is my brothers elaborate Breaking Bad joke. I was just telling him about Megaman 5 lore on a discord call when he accidentally heard "Crystal meth" instead of "Crystalman" And since he's an avid Breaking Bad enjoyer, he immediately suggested that I sketch this idea out. Just as I was thinking on who should "cook" with him (my first thought was Plantman for obvious reasons), I remembered that Megaman 11 had an actual chemist robot in it. And this is how this illustration came to be.

On the right we have Gravityman, who I actually love a whole lot. He's just kind of a antisocial nerd who'd rather spend his days reading in peace and quiet than interact with anyone. He even uses his Gravity Hold to hide from people on the ceiling lol. (That's a canon fact btw) He's just like me for real. Except that I sadly can't hang out on the ceiling of my apartment.

The book he's holding in the small drawing is "Die Physiker" by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. You know. Since he's a physicist. It's one of my favorite books of all time. I highly recommend it if you can find it in English somewhere. The ending is really fucked up hehe. My brother and I actually saw it live in theater this year, probably the best decision I've ever made.

That site is literally a treasure of unimaginable value. I'm very passionate about knowledge being archived and made available for future generations. Comes with being a librarian lol.

"Megaman fans be like: Warcrime Man my beloved <3" is a real sentence I just wrote. Really now, which developer thought "guy who shoots Napalm from his arms" was a good idea for a Megaman robot. My personal headcanon is that he really does open a weapon museum, but gets really alienated by the folks that visit. As in, he opened it to tell humans (and robots) about the weapons history and the horrors of war they have caused, considering he is a literal war machine himself, he would take this task very seriously. Seeing as he is a living example of humankinds atrocities. This got really dark sorry. To his shock though, his target audience are mostly gun and tank fanatics. Like teenagers who've played a little too much World of Tanks in their time. Or old, conservative men who think gun rights are more important than a womans health and safety. Shit sucks.

Starman is trying his best to cheer him up in the little illustration in the middle. It's not working.

Last one is Chargeman. Just imagine... In an alternate universe where mm2wood never existed (horrifying, I know), there was instead... mm5charge. Doesn't quite have the same ring to it but oh well. We're only talking in hypotheticals here. And instead of Smol Nozomi there would be Smol Maki.

The Chargeman/Maki Nishikino dynamic duo is actually a idea I had way back last year when I was about to draw a giant Love Live / Megaman crossover that I never ended up doing. It was just all of the Muse girls with their officially assigned funni robot. Let me find the file for it.... Maki, Eli and Nico were probably the easiest decisions. Maki and Chargeman because they're both basically huge tsunderes lol. That was actually the only reason why I chose him haha. For Eli I chose Tundraman (for obvious reasons) and for Nico I chose Topman. They just have a similar kind of energy you get me?

The rest of the pairs were Rin/Slashman (because kity cat), Umi/Splashwoman (Umi literally means sea lol), Hanayo/Sheepman (because of her obsession with the schools alpacas), Honoka/Aquaman (i just thought it would be funny. they'd be absolutely great together trust me), Kotori/Cutman (since she likes sewing clothes and he is literally a walking pair of scissors). I took great care to only choose one robot master from each line of robots. Maybe I'll end up really drawing this sometime in the future. I wanna draw Eli and Tundraman ice skating together.

To get back to the topic (Chargeman), I just think he's so fucking funny. Grampa. Grampa robot.

The last thing I wanna point out is the line "Megaman and Love Live take place in the same world (source: trust me)". That's just my personal headcanon but it would be so funny if the two series existed in the same world but were just unaware of each others existences.
