That's how I understand your comment - No matter who the person under the uniform is, it gives him a new personality. When he puts the mask he becomes a soulless soldier, a tool of regim (war) without emotions.
Your comments are very deep and they helped me to find another meaning in these photos.

I understand the feeling that a uniform holds over some of us.
Sometimes I wear a beret styled after the one my Grandfather had when he served in the First Canadian Paratroop division.
It changes what we are and how people perceive us.
Incredible how much power we hold over ourselves and others.
