"I see more and more teens getting pregnant, often at times when their friends do."
What the ... ?!
Just as soon as I start to think that I know how crazy people are, they prove me wrong.
"What I get pissed at is that they are treating the kid like a toy or a trend"
Horrible. Agreed, that's not cool.

I wish I was kidding but no. I have seen that for myself. Maybe not pregnancy pacts but my fiancΓ©e's brother got a girl pregnant about the time his friend did and the girls were friends. That is sick and I see more and more the teens doing it to get the glory of having a baby. Sick.

I feel repulsion towards any irresponsible teenager that had a baby for the sake of just having one. Babies may not talk, they may not be smart (after all everybody is born with an IQ of 0) and they may suddenly cry a lot and non-stop; but they don't deserve to be trated like a toy or decoration. They are a new human and should be treated with care and affection, after all, they're the next generation and can respond to pain, sickness and love since the moment they breathe.

If someone is not treated as a human from birth, it can lead to problems. You could create a monster or distrubed person who shoots up public just because you wanted to be cool. Now I know that is extreme for an example, but still

Exactly, since babies usually have that Γ see it I'll do it" mentality. And since the parents won't even bother to tell them what is a no-no, you end up with scum.

Or a cycle of girls thinking that their existance is invalid if they don't get pregnant asap

Actually my father was listening to the radio on the way home and they were talking about how girls get pregnant because it's a "trend" to do it. And oh, God forbid you if you want to be virgin until marriage.

And what gets me is somehow they promote the teen pregnancy and absitnence at the same time. I hate people who promote one and the other acting like it okay if they knock the bad behavior.

I've always been upset by those people who claim they believe in the good things of the Bible (because the Bible also recorded to atrocities humans made), yet they're complete assholes, hypocrites, etc.

Me too. They honestly detract from the Word in my opinion. I mean Jesus has great teachings but nowhere does he promote the type of behavior many Christians today do. I mean with a pregnant teen he would scold them, sure but he would also be understanding in their overall plight. A lot like the woman at the well honestly.

I'm pretty sure he would scold them, since risking their own life and the baby's just for a stupid trend goes against anything he would stand for.

While they can be cute, they're not toys.
Just because they look like dolls doesn't mean they are dolls.

It's not just teens, adults are often guilty of the same and treat their kids more like accessories or toys. This seems to be especially true of those who describe themselves as "crunchy."

This is amazing and so true! Children should not be treated like a trend! They're not toys or dolls! They're human beings and should be treated as such! They shouldn't be used as pawns in a game either!

I think it is because people see them as inferior that they don't treat them like humans with feelings. Sure a baby can't talk nor wipe its own ass, but it feels and you are inflicting damage that one cannot hope to recover from.

IronBatMaiden91 In reply to PurplePhoneixStar [2013-04-02 01:41:29 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. They like to say terminating a pregnancy is inhumane, but I think treating them like pawns or bringing them into the world unwanted is more inhumane.

If it is terminated, then the kid will not feel the emotional and more damaging than physical pain trauma of being nothing more than a pawn in someone else's game.
