So my friend and i were fishing tonight, and the sky slowly turned into one of the most beautiful sunsets i have ever seen. It looked like the sky was on fire. This is one of the shots i got, i will be posting one or 2 more as well. Only editing is a minor color correction to tone down the purple. Enjoy!Part of the Orange contest here: [link]

Beautiful colors and depth of field. I like how you focused on the foreground and let the sunset be nice and soft. Really a well thought out shot!

The background colours are very nice and strong. I also like the silouhettes of the grass.
So now my critique: The grass could be more sharper and the background more blurry. The sky is a bit grainy and I think a black border will give the picture more expression.

Great stuff. A bit more panaramic shot would've been even better and add to the atmosphere, alas panaramic doesn't show up very nice in small view on dA.

i thought it was reflection of sunset at first.. dynamic angle and foreground add alot to the shot..

It really does look like the sky is on fire! So red, passionete even.
The crop and grass in the forground make it a stunning silouette and makes me thing of a duck sitting in the reeds watching the sunset. The colours are so alive!
I would say you should have made it a bit longer to create the illusion of space and lots of it.
Thats all, its a wonderful piece and you should be proud to have seen and captured of of natures most beautiful wonders at work.

The grasses give a perfect contrast and interest to what would otherwise be another run of the mill beautiful sunset.
Heaven knows I've shot enough of those my self (the run of the mill type) lol

This is such a gorgeous photograph. i love the way that you have made the reeds the focus of the photo, but not to the detriment of the sky. The colours are fantastic. Very deep and intense. i also think that the way you have cropped the photograph is very good as well... You show just enough to be interesting but not too much as to be boring. Fantastic job.
