"Sooooooooooo, as you all probably noticed by my uploads and stuff; I've really gotten into the video game: "Balan Wonderworld". The platformer created by the creative duo of Sonic the Hedgehog as they worked with Square to create a spiritual successor to NiGHTS

which apparently did not work
but we don't have time for that yet!

Now, I've gotten OBESSED with it! Especially with the soundtrack and character design, so when the game has it's price dropped on Amazon, I did buy it and again, I'll talk more about it soon. But since my uni is coming close to an end, I decided to start another series of traditional pictures to play around with my coloured pencils and so what better way to do that than with Balan Wonderworld!? Where I shall draw the two playable characters, the maestros in both of their forms and even the inhabitants!"

So, this was probably the most awakard picture to draw because of his costume (Quad Cannon) not having legs but that matches since he stands out the most with the inhabitants before and after him. So, surprisingly to me this inhabitant is decently popular; Cal Suresh is the inhabitants that sticks out to me the most due to his backstory. If we judge from the game directly, he seems like a petty loser as he fell into despair due to losing a lot of chess games after being the chess champion; however if we look into the novel, it is explained that while Cal was getting frustrated over his constant losses, he began to neglect his sickly wife and after she passed away, the grief stricken man finally found his way into the theatre. The death of his wife being described as his true reasoning for being in the theatre, as on his stage, he has a queen in his "kingdom" that does resemble her and he slowly has to let her go. But I still kind of find my whole "put a petty chess guy in between two females dealing with grief" idea funny.
As for me, while I do find his level music quite fun, this Wonderland theme and how I managed to somehow get three Balan statues while fighting him despite the many times I failed; he doesn't get too interesting for me. But hey, at least he's proved that guys with giant noses can be attractive (yesthatwasaburntowhateverthehellisgoingonwiththeHTfandom)
