This is a cursed image that I still don't understand. Is there context to this? XD
I know there was context in the manga for why Luke was peeping on Professor in the shower, but this image is a mystery. If not, Level-5 has some explaining to do.

Wait, did you draw this? It is SO convincing. XD
I love manga Luke despite him being out of character. He is a little sadistic shit, and it is adorable. (I feel bad for Layton though.)

Oh no THAT manga!
I've read it, I bought and read the whole thing! And it was painful, the part where Layton puts a horn on his crotch and walks around with it in public, made me close the book for a second and I facepalmed and cringed really hard.
You know that parody where; Layton has cancer and Luke yells BASEBALL all the time and Layton beats him up and kills him by trowing him out the window?
Yeah I think that Layton is more "in character" then the Layton from this manga. I'm not even kidding here, I'm serious. T_T

Its SO whacky! In all honesty it's kind of baffling they let corocoro release these books and level-5 just sat there and let it happen despite the very not-child friendly content LOL
no wonder it's not officially released in English... I still somehow genuinely enjoy them and gotta say, I love the way they portray Luke though, he was always a smug brat in secret in my eyes :^)

What they were not released in english? Huh... I could buy them in german just like any other manga, I actually found out about it's existence by seeing it, in the manga section, of a regular bookstore.
I was like: "Hey a Layton manga." So I bought all 4 books and read it...
...and it turned out to be more like Golden Boy instead of Professor Layton. Then I looked at the cover and noticed the label wich said: "supervised by Level-5"
And I was like:"They looked at that and said: "Okay"?? So is this canon now??"
Idunno this manga has a bit too many extreme reactions after more extreme reactions, they should let some scenes breathe a bit.
Not that I regret buying it, I would've bought it anyway, because I wanted more content to consume.

Yeah, I was told it's the same people as the one publishing doraemon so now I can somehow...understand.
They were never released in English, only Spanish, German and Japanese if I remember right. But y'know, it's probably because of the culture gap, westerners are too orthodox for that kinda content lol
I think it wasn't supposed to have a breather, it's kind of a spinoff comedy of sorts, and it's kinda a nice change from the usually very formal, deep atmosphere of the series imo! Besides, they do have other official stuff like manga or children's books, but unfortunately they are only in japanese

Aha. I didn't know being able to buy these is such a privilege. But it makes kinda sense that it was released here. I america people get offended over sex but barely bat an eye over violence. In germany it's the other way around. So there are sex jokes EVERYWHERE!!! And when I think about it, this manga is nothing compared to some of the comics and cartoons we have here.
Yeah, I wasn't bothered by these dirty jokes, but over the fact that it had to be with Layton and co. and that everyone was so selfish and made dumb desicions. (and I was suprised that Level-5 was just like "yeah whatever")
With breather I kinda meant, that the characters just screamed alot. They had too many extreme reactions, one after another. It felt like using explosions every 5 seconds.
Maybe I wasn't supposed to read all shorts at once, idunno.

hm, i feel like the same thing is happening here,
people usually dont take sex jokes or swears that seriously
but haha, i can see why its so baffling to see Layton HIMSELF being a total goof
(and Luke beating him up for it)
i like the sense of humor though, Japanese comedy is usually about
weird/extreme things happening one after another repeatedly
