the detail in the stainglass window must have taken forever! However, i have to say my fondness is toward the skirt, the goemetric "sparkles" (for lack of a better term on my part) and the way you lit the falling leaf. i've never seen anyone else who can come close to your skill and style, congrats on another masterpiece! ^_^

It's a nice picture and I love the detail, but I think her body is quite a bit out of proportion.

Oh wow. You are definatly the god of the watercolor. I love the detail. That is a beautiful angel. The folds on the skirt are just magnificent. I really like the part on her wing as well. You should sell prints of this.

Did you write the words as well? Because no matter how much I like your visual skills, I totally fell for the writing. It fits perfectly with the piece. This will have to be a fav.
Sorry that I couldn't come up with anything more constructive...

thats really good stuff. I love using style like that when you break up the background with a geometric shape. Nice work and good composition

Do you use a lot of masking fluid so you can get the fine details? Also, how do you get that circle/halo behind and around the figure?

puimun In reply to ChaosFay [2004-09-14 19:54:45 +0000 UTC]
No masking fluid at all. As for the circles...I just treat the edges like any other hard edge.

Interesting. I use masking fluid when I do a lot of paintings with fine details...like lightning. Hmmm...do you have a watercoloring book out with your tips and all? You should!

this is rediculous... how can this be? seriously, please give me some tips? please? everything is just fantastic... its mostly how u get those (seemingly) tiny details, cuz water colors like to bleed, and somehow, u can keep super sharp edges (especially in the stainedglass thing)
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
puimun In reply to immortus [2004-09-14 19:56:26 +0000 UTC]
Well, they don't bleed if the paper is dry underneath. You just have to be patient and let layers dry before painting on top, or adjacent.

Beautifully stunning concept. Whatever text you choose to accompany your work always seems to add an entirely new level of story to it. I'm always amazed at what some people can do with water color (I always think of those rainbows kids paint at age 4 .. heheh) and you definitely top the list with all you've done so far. I love these .. it's like reading a fairytale, subtract the book.
