Description Back in the Competitor's Lounge, Jake waited anxiously for the monitor to display the second round of the Frontier Tournament. Everyone else who had cleared the first round was also gathered around to see the results. Jake recognized most of them as a few talked amongst themselves. The screen switched on to show a new announcer in a generic anime thumbs up pose.

"Annnd, welcome everybody to the second round of the first ever Frontier Epicness Tournament," The announcer spoke into his microphone as the crowd in the background stands wooted and cheered, "We got to see some wicked battles yesterday with some top notch trainers still in the running."

The screen split into four separate screens to show some clips from some battles of the first round. Jake had watched most of them the night before to learn some of his opponents' strategies. He was quite impressed with the competition; everyone who made it to the second round truly had a lot of skill.

The announcer came back on the screen, grinning ear to ear, "Now without further adieu, let's find out who's who in round two!"

The crowd cheered again as the screen changed to a tournament bracket with the faces of everyone who won round one. Everyone gathered a little closer to find their place on the bracket. Jake scanned through it himself and found his next opponent.

'Blade Isakura,' Jake mentally said as he read the bracket.

Jake remembered meeting the kid the day before after his first match. They both really liked comparing their Metagross and other pokemon. Jake also remembered that Blade was a wild card for the second round, so he never got to see what kind of team Blade has. An interesting challenge Jake had to admit.

"Alright folks, these matches are set to begin in half an hour," The announcer blurted with much enthusiasium, "So sit back, relax, and prepare for trouble, er, rumbles."

The stadium boomed with the crowd cheering on their favorite competitor on screen.

Only half an hour before his next match and Jake was starting to get a little nervous, but all the more excited. He looked around the lounge to see the remaining competitors introducing themselves to their opponent. Jake quickly caught sight of Blade and decided to do the same.

"What's up," Blade said first.

"Just wanted to say good luck kid and may the best man win," Jake replied with an open hand.

"Yeah, which will be me," Blade said snidely.

"I said man, not kid."

They both countered each other with a bit of banter before parting ways. Jake wanted to go scope out the battle field in the B block stadium. There was a rumor that the fields could be changed to different terrains to create an even bigger challenge, and he wanted to see if they had set it up this way for the round. Walking through the back hallways, Jake could still hear the persistent cheers of the crowd in the stadium. He soon found himself lost in thought of how he would take on Blade in the next round.

"Jake!" A familiar feminine voice snapped him back to reality.

Jake gasped as he saw who called him, "Mom, Dad!"

He rushed over to them as happy and surprised as he could be to see his parents here.

"Good to see you son," Jake's father said as he ruffled Jake's hair, further messing it up than it was.

Jake hated how his dad always did this to him a kid and now it just made feel a bit embarrassed that he still does it. Jake's dad was still tough in his later age, a few gray streaks here and there in his hair along with his regular white Gi attire. Jake's mother had let her dark brown hair down so it was just past her shoulders. Her usual breeder attire was replaced with a light brown skirt and a sky blue blouse. They all hugged and greeted each other again.

"Mom, Dad, I'm glad to see you, but what about the ranch?" Jake asked.

Jake's mom smiled warmly, "We have the neighbors watching over the pokemon, and these two wanted to come along as well."

Moving out of the way, Jake's mom revealed two pokemon. A Dewott wearing a yellow spiral seashell necklace, and a smug looking Renuiclus.

"Rachael, Bradley," Jake said with joy.

Rachael the Dewott and Jake gave each other a great embrace, "Jake, I've missed you so much."

"Me too Rachael."

"I got some new ideas for our routine in the next contest. We only need two more ribbons before the Grand Festival," Rachael squealed excitedly.

"Great, I can't wait to see," Jake said setting Rachael back on the ground, "Hey Bradley, how have you been doing."

Bradley the Renuiclus crossed his arms and scoffed, "I should be in this tournament since I'd be able to wipe the floor with anyone of these deadbeats."

"Sorry Bradley, but you know the rules. No fifth gen pokemon were allowed to be entered."

"That sucks, what kind of pathetic, dumb loser came up with that rule anyways?"

Jake and Rachael both sweat dropped, 'sorry inhuman.'

"Thanks for bringing Rachael and Bradley," Jake said to his parents, "I promise to win this for you all."

"Just remember that you need to win this for yourself as well," Jake's dad said heartily.

"Jake Everant to Block B for your match. Jake Everant to Block B for your match," A mechanical, synthesized drone said over the intercom.

"I better get going, see you all later," Jake waved as he left.

"Good luck Jake, tell Haze to make sure to kick some butt" Rachael called.

"Good luck son," Both Jake's parents called.

Jake raced to the Block B arena dodging a couple people in the hallway along the way. He stopped just outside the entrance as he rounded the last corner. A gang of people dressed in tournament referee gear were whispering to each other beside the arena's entrance. They all caught sight of Jake and went silent. The first two smirked while the other guy scowled directly at Jake before leaving to the arena's field. This really set off an alarm in Jake's head; it reminded him of Dagger's warning from the night before how there were malicious energies around them. Jake shook his head, he felt like he was overeating, but he would definitely still keep his eyes peeled until he felt safe.

---

Blade was unlike Jake's first opponent, Riddle, from round 1. The two had been evenly matched throughout their battles. The crowd was wild with excitement and anticipation as the two trainers were down to their last pokemon each. Though the air didn't feel quite as light hearted as it was the day before, and only half the spectators cheered as loud as the day before. Jake and Blade were only vaguely aware of this as much of their attention was on their battle. It was down to Jake with Xylon and Blade with his Metagross. They had exchanged wins with their other pokemon before this final showdown.

"You know for a kid, you're an ok trainer," Jake taunted.

"You haven't seen Metagross' full potential yet," Blade taunted back.

"Funny, that's what I was about to say. Get ready Xylon!"

Both Metagross began to glow with a purplish hue, trying to overpower the other with Psychic. The ground beneath both pokemon cracked as the attack continued. Pieces of the field floated up into the air before disintegrating from the overwhelming force of power.

*Kaboom*

The entire arena was shrouded with a deadly silence save for the resounding echo of the explosion. Jake and Blade's Metagross lost interest in the battle to concentrate on where the explosion came from.

"Damn, of course they have to spring the attack early," A dark menacing voice came from the side of the field.

Jake and Blade turned their attention to where the voice came from. It was one of the referees Jake had seen from earlier in the hallway; he gave off a menacing aura which Jake immediately recognized. The referee chuckled evilly before striping off the referee uniform. Jake gritted his teeth in anger and worry as he saw the now revealed Team Sigma uniform on the man.

The Team Sigma grunt raised a hand to the ear piece he was still wearing that connected to the arena speakers.

The speakers crackled against the whispers that ran trough the crowd, "Attention all units, initiate the attack! We're locking down!"

More whispers rippled through the stands, "Attack?!" "Lock down?"

It was as if someone had just flipped a switch on the arena's mood from excitement to fear. Suddenly, members of the audience, mostly among the outer most seats, stood up and tore off their disguises. A collective gasp escaped the rest of the spectators as more members of not only Team Sigma were revealed, but also other organizations as well. Jake recognized the bold red "R" of Team Rocket and the sci-fi like outfits of Team Galactic, others like Team Aqua and Magma could be seen throughout the crowd while others Jake could not recognize. A woman screamed in terror as another person cried, "Run for your life." The innocent spectators were thrown into a panic as waves of cries for help reverberated through the arena.

Jake's heart skipped a beat as he watched more waves of Team Sigma security bots, pokemon, and various Team grunts flood into the arena, sealing the exits. Many people were being herded out through guarded exits; a few brave souls that tried to resist were taken out by a brutal grunt member or pokemon. In the span of only a minute, the chaos grew even more intense with cries from the other arenas being heard just above the cries from B Block arena. Jake overcame his initial shock and looked over to Blade who was fighting off a couple grunts with the help of his Metagross.

"Xylon, help Blade," Jake ordered, "I have to find my parents."

Xylon obeyed and used Psychic to throw off a few pokemon that were trying to pile on top of Blade's Metagross. Now on the move, Jake began calling out for his parents and pokemon, "Mom, Dad, Rachael, Bradley!"

His desperate cries were lost in the crowd save for by a few grunts that noticed the lone trainer.

You there," One Team Sigma grunt shouted at Jake, "Surrender and give in."

'I don't have time for this,' Jake thought, "Get out of my way you reject!"

The grunt became enraged by this, "Reject?! Fine, Buizel take care of this punk."

On command, three Buizel wearing black control collars surrounded Jake. Jake knew the rest of his pokemon were exhausted and Xylon was already helping Blade and his Metagross, he was on his own for this battle.

The first Buizel rushed in with on an Aqua Jet, but Jake was able to easily dodge the attack. Jake shot a fist straight into the second Buizel that tried the same tactic, knocking it off course and ramming into the ground. He sideswiped the third Buizel that tried to attack from behind. While it was still regaining its footing Jake threw in a sweeper kick to knock the third Buizel off balance. The first Buizel from before tried another Aqua Jet to catch Jake off guard. It failed as Jake leapt out of the way and let the first Buizel crash into the other he was just fighting. Jake smirked at the awestruck Team Sigma grunt that had its team of Buizel taken out so easily.

Jake looked up as a plane hovered into position right above the arena and fixated into place. The bottom of the plane popped open and lowered a cable suspended platform. Upon it, three men stood overlooking the chaos of the arena. One of them wore a more flourished Team Rocket uniform. The man on the far right was another Team Magma grunt that was probably of a higher rank since he wasn't with the ground forces. The last man in the middle made Jake clench his fists in a fit of hatred. Kaiser, the leader of Team Sigma stood in a regal manner in one his tailored suits which bore the Team Sigma insignia on the lapel.

"Kaiser!" Jake yelled out in rage.

The middle-aged man smiled devilishly as he saw who had called his name, "Well, there you are Jake. I would have thought one of the other teams would have found you for me in the attack, but now you've saved me the trouble of me having to hunt you down personally."

"Gee I'm glad I could do that for ya, but now I get to the chance to kick your ass, personally!"

Kaiser let out a wicked laugh, "You have no choice now that all your pokemon are incapacitated."

Jake took a quick glance through the throngs of enemies to see Xylon, Blade and his Metagross desperately fending off multitudes of enemies as they were slowly being forced into a corner. Kaiser raised his hand which called more grunts and pokemon to surround Jake. There was no way he could face all these enemies, but Jake knew he wasn't going to just give up. Many of the grunts called out their commands to their pokemon and they charged Jake in full force. The first wave left Jake with a small number of bruises as he took out one pokemon after the other. A Bibarel caught Jake by surprise as it used Slash and knocked Jake to the side. Other pokemon took the opportunity and struck at the same time. Still recovering from the last attack, Jake threw his arms up defensively awaiting the barrage. Jake braced himself, but instead of getting pounded by the various pokemon, he witnessed a flash of gold and blue run past him and his attackers, leaving the wave of pokemon that were about to attack writhing in pain or unconscious. Jake was at the least surprised when he saw the shiny Lucario standing before him, holding a battle stance toward the Team grunts and pokemon.

"Ola atholloria kashian reahalla shas kiarustia hen seyas KURASHASYA!"

The melodious chant carried itself from the wind. Suddenly, the grunts and pokemon that still stood facing the Lucario began to drop like flies from some unknown force that rendered them all unconscious. The sudden turn of events not only shocked Jake, but the other organization grunts and Kaiser as well. From the suspended platform of the plane, Kaiser's earpiece crackled to life.

"Sir, we have a problem," An out of breath grunt stuttered over the radio

"What's going on?" Kaiser snapped, the other team officers next to him looking worried.

"The other organizations are starting to pull out," The grunt said, "They said that a Lucario and a Gardevoir already took out a quarter of the entire attack force and reinforcements from the police have already arrived!"

Kaiser caught sight of some of the other organization helicopters and planes flying away from the other arenas; a few grunts clinging to the rail like legs of the helicopters to escape. Another flash if action caught his attention, leading to the battle field below where the bulk of his underlings were. A Gardevoir appeared as if from nowhere to the middle of the field with the Lucario. Both had stunned the enemy forces by their display of power. Most, if not all the forces of team grunts turned tail and ran for the nearest exit to escape. With the initial attack seeming to disband more trainers within the crowd joined in the fight against the rest of the forces. Kaiser scowled as the plan to take capture the trainers' pokemon failed.

"Kaiser, what do we do sir," The Team Rocket officer asked as he looked like he was going to run himself, were it not for the fact that he was on a cable suspended platform on a plane.

"Did the fools from Team Aqua at least get the data from the main terminal like I requested?" Kaiser said disappointedly.

The Team Rocket officer spoke into a walkie talkie and struggled to hear the response.

"Yes sir they have already escaped with a copy of the data."

Kaiser took one last glance at the field that his forces where now losing control of, "We may leave then."

The platform reeled itself up into the belly of the plane and sped off leaving many discouraged grunts behind to the mercy of the angry crowd and police. Jake looked on satisfied that Kaiser had ran and now he could focus on finding his parents. Before he could though, the Gardevoir and Lucario teleported in front of him from out of nowhere.

"Thank you for your help, but I must go," Jake said before the Lucario pushed him back.

The Gardevoir stepped forward and began to communicate telepathically with Jake, "(I must heal you first.)"

The Gardevoir lifted up Jake's right arm that had a fresh looking gash from the Bibarel's Slash attack and place her other hand on top of the wound, "Conthra ul hamal koon kanka lasu lea." The Gardevoir voice seemed to echo as Jake felt a weird surge flow through him.

The gash closed up instantly and the bruises that he also had had disappeared with no hint of pain. Jake flexed his arm to see the wound fully healed.

"Um, thank you again, but who are you?" Jake asked quizzically.

"(I am Sara and he is Jadin)" The Gardevoir answered, gesturing to herself then the Lucario.

Jadin also spoke to Jake telepathically, "(We came here when our master told us that there was a supposed attack waiting to happen.)"

"I'm grateful for your help, but I must find my family," Jake said before getting pushed back by Jadin again.

"(We can help you with that as well,)" Sara said as she placed a hand on Jake's forehead.

She sang another chant, "Creal Thorola hashthelasa eathra." the same weird surge flowed through Jake, but this time many of Jake's memories flashed in his mind as if Sara watching them through his eyes. The memories shifted to images of his mother and father and Sara removed her hand from his forehead.

"(They are in the pokemon center lobby with your other pokemon Rachael and Bradley, they are all safe)" Sara said coolly.

Jake didn't have time to ask how she knew this, but trusted her and went over to Blade to pick up Xylon who was still fending off a few stragglers from the attack.

"Thank you," He called back to Sara and Jadin before the two mysterious pokemon disappeared with teleportation to other Blocks that needed help.

After defeating the last straggler, Jake returned Xylon while Blade returned his Metagross who were now exhausted themselves from the constant battles.

"Thanks Jake, Xylon really saved our hides back there," Blade said.

"No problem, but I can't stay. I have to go find my family to make sure they are safe," Jake replied, "We'll have to have a rematch later then to make up for the battle."

"Alright, good luck," Blade called after Jake as he ran off to find his family.

daaang. downed power. welll... what spooked me, is on april 16th, i was only two hours away from an EF3 tornado, destroiying the capital of my state. it was a supercell that somehow came in from oklahoma over the appalachin mountains. 43 people died in the tornadoes it made. my little brother was at a soccer tournament barely a half hour from where one of them touched down. he could have died if it simply changed direction. scared the hell outa me when i heard about it.

Well basically my homwtown was hit by a really bad Thunderstorm/ cluster of tornados (lucky they weren't too severe) and took out the power lines in many of the surrounding towns including my own. Then to make matters worse, The next day, not even 20 minutes we regained power near noon, some idiot redneck drunk decided to crash his pickup into a powerline, knocking teh freakin power out AGAIN!~ so you can imagine how pissed I was about that

Wow what a jerk. Stupid Redneck. It's one thing to lose power from mother nature, we have no control over that. But stupidity like that really pisses me off. Something similar like that happened to my block THE DAY AFTER CHRISTMAS. You can only imagine how pist I was not to mention i had a bunch of new Xbox games and I couldn't go on DA at all.
